Chapter 710 Riding High
Saturday morning.
Dynamic Entertainment held a meeting, dragging all the signed artists outta bed. Even the Best Actress, Wendy, had to show up.
Everyone was buzzing, thinking some major shake-up was about to go down.
Dynamic Entertainment, being one of the top dogs in the biz, had been the talk of the town for the past couple of months. Rumors were flying about power struggles and big changes.
When someone climbed up, someone else got the boot.
Everyone was on high alert.
Natalie rolled into the conference room, and half seats were taken.
Mindy, Karen, and Lydia, along with their agents, were all there.
Mindy had this smug grin plastered on her face.
Most folks seemed to think Mindy was gonna snag the VP spot.
A few minor actresses were sucking up to Mindy, trying to get on her good side.
Karen whipped out her lipstick and started touching up her makeup, catching one of her actresses brown-nosing Mindy. She squinted a bit. The entertainment world was all about kissing up to the big shots and ignoring the nobodies.
Karen didn't lose her cool. When she spotted Natalie coming in, her eyes naturally followed.
Natalie hadn't given her any promises. Karen was on edge.
Natalie rocked a baseball cap and mask, dressed in a comfy, loose sweatshirt, looking super chill. Even when their eyes met, she didn't bat an eye.
Karen started feeling a bit jittery.
Seeing Mindy's smug mug again, Karen thought, 'Could it really be Mindy?'
The idea of being under Mindy's thumb made Karen feel sick, but kinda helpless.
After a bit, more attendees trickled in.
Even Alice took a break from the One Day crew to show up.
Alice's gig wouldn't be hit too hard by the changes at Dynamic Entertainment.
Alice, being the future Mrs. Howard Group, could get any resources she wanted.
Some top-tier celebs didn't bother with Alice out of pride, but a bunch of second and third-tier actresses and actors were all over her.
Alice loved the attention, adding a few folks on Facebook. She was new to the scene and needed the buzz. Making connections was a smart move.
Natalie just sat there, chillin' in her seat.
The room was buzzing with chatter.
Alice glanced at Natalie, wanting to show off her entourage while Natalie was solo. She also wanted to brag about snagging One Day.
But Natalie didn't even look her way, which made Alice feel like she was punching air.
About five minutes later, a few suits walked in, led by a Howard Group shareholder.
Finnian was right behind them.
The room went dead silent. The shareholder looked around and said, "I think y'all know what's been going on. For the betterment of our actors and actresses, the Howard Group does a financial review every six months. This time, Dynamic Entertainment Media had some issues. As a shareholder of the Howard Group, I'm announcing that the former president of Dynamic Entertainment Media, Lucas, and the VP, Herman, are in police custody—one for embezzlement and the other for rape. We'll keep you posted."
As soon as he dropped that bomb, everyone was stunned. A few folks glanced at Finnian, and the whole room was in shock.
