Chapter 313 Alice's Poster
After breakfast, Natalie had nothing planned, so she decided to clean the house. She grabbed the cleaning supplies and noticed Rosalie changing clothes, looking like she was heading out.
"Mom, are you going out?" Natalie asked.
Rosalie smiled, "Yeah, I'm meeting a friend to go shopping."
Natalie put on a mask. "Mom, get yourself some new clothes. Everything in your closet is old."
Rosalie changed her shoes and opened the door. "Why waste money? My clothes are fine."
Rosalie was always frugal, so Natalie didn't push it. She put on gloves and got ready for a deep clean.
Since moving in, she'd only done a thorough cleaning once. Now, a month later, she finally had some free time.
She cleaned the living room, kitchen, and bathroom, then moved on to Rosalie's room with disinfectant and a mop.
After mopping the floor, she hesitated, gripping the mop tightly. After about ten seconds, she put it down, lifted the blanket, and felt under the pillow.
As expected, the notebook wasn't there.
She checked the closet and the nightstand, finding a locked box inside, heavy and unopenable.
Rosalie seemed to value this notebook a lot, and when Natalie found it, Rosalie had clearly panicked.
Natalie didn't know what was in the notebook but didn't want to doubt Rosalie too much. Rosalie was her only family.
After a moment, Natalie sighed, put the box back, and continued cleaning.
Rosalie went to a mall alone and headed to a phone store.
The clerk greeted her, "Ma'am, come in and take a look. We have the latest models." Noticing Rosalie's simple attire, the clerk recommended some budget phones.
Rosalie asked, "Do you have the phone endorsed by Alice?"
"Alice?" The clerk nodded. "Yes, but it's a bit pricey. The high-end model is $1,099, and the lowest is $769. Want to have a look?"
Rosalie gritted her teeth. "Alright, let me see it."
The clerk, doubting Rosalie could afford it, brought the phone and explained its features.
Rosalie took out a credit card. "I'll take this one."
The clerk, surprised but happy, said, "Alright, ma'am, I'll wrap it up for you." After a couple of minutes, the clerk returned with a poster. "Here's a poster of the celebrity endorsement for you."
On the poster, Alice wore a pink dress, holding a pink phone, smiling sweetly. Rosalie smiled too.
When Rosalie returned at noon, Natalie had changed clothes and was getting ready for work. She had to cover a shift for Denise at the Imperial Nightclub.
"Mom, I've made lunch. Did you eat out? If not, eat while it's hot. I have to go to work soon," Natalie said.
"Going so early?" Rosalie asked, putting down her things and heading to the kitchen.
"Yeah, I have something to do today." Natalie went to the entryway to change her shoes. She noticed a shopping bag on the cabinet with a phone box inside, the latest Pro model.
This phone wasn't cheap, starting at six to seven hundred dollars.
Natalie thought, 'Why would Mom buy this?'
She pursed her lips, glanced towards the kitchen, and took out the phone. Inside, she found a rolled-up poster. She frowned and opened it.
The poster featured Alice! Was this the phone endorsed by Alice?
