Chapter 127 Preciousness
Natalie followed Brice to the CEO's office on the 71st floor.
"Mr. Howard, Ms. Teeger is here."
"Come in."
Natalie nodded at Brice. When she went in, she found that the man's office was very spacious, decorated in the cool color that Adrian liked, with a huge rotating bookshelf and a cabinet displaying various valuable ornaments.
As for Adrian, he sat on the sofa with his knees crossed. When their eyes met, Natalie looked away first and said in a deep voice. "Mr. Howard, please return my earring."
"Did you bring me back last night?"
Natalie nodded. There was no reason to refuse to double the overtime pay.
The man's gaze slowly deepened. "Natalie, how did your earring end up on my bed?"
Natalie suddenly widened her eyes. "I just..."
It actually fell inside his bedroom. Seeing the disgust in the man's eyes, Natalie bit her lip. "You are drunk. I helped you upstairs, but you were too heavy, and when you lay down, you pulled me down too."
Adrian simply didn't believe this excuse.
He knew Natalie would find ways to get close to him. A cheap earring worth only a few dozen dollars, a common silver accessory, she rashly went to Bayview Villa in the morning. If it weren't for the surveillance, he wouldn't have known her intentions were so deep.
The man took out the earring from the coffee table, holding it in his hand. "For such a cheap item, you trespassed Bayview Villa, Natalie, and I don't believe a word you say."
Natalie said, "Indeed, this earring is not expensive, but for me, the value is not in the price. Please return it to me, Mr. Howard. Breaking into Bayview Villa is my fault, and I had no intention of entering." Who knew Lucky suddenly opened the door from the inside and dragged her in.
Since she was already inside, of course, she would want to look around.
If she found it, she wouldn't have to meet Adrian.
She walked a few steps in front of the man, bending down with a very sincere attitude. "I apologize to Mr. Howard. I hope Mr. Howard will return the earring to me. For you, this is a cheap item, but for me, it's a cherished gift from my boyfriend."
There was a hint of coldness in Adrian's eyes at the mention of boyfriend, as if a steel needle pierced through his temple. He didn't know what was wrong, he just felt uncomfortable, looking at the Hexagram Earring in his hand, he suddenly found it a bit glaring.
The man tossed it with a parabolic trajectory.
The earring landed in the nearby trash can.
Natalie was stunned, quickly bending down to pick it up, regardless of how dirty the trash can was.
As she reached out, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by a large hand, and Natalie struggled abruptly.
Adrian grabbed both of her hands. "How long do you want to pretend in front of me? The waitress outside the room last night wasn't you at all. You still came over to bring me back, deliberately leaving the earring on my bed, and you trespassed Bayview Villa again today. Isn't it just to get my attention? A cheap earring is not worth very much. You deliberately came over again, just to attract my attention, Natalie, if you play this cat and mouse game for many times, I'll get tired of it."
"Adrian, you are a jerk. Let me go! No one is playing a game with you." The man restrained Natalie. "Adrian, even if you think it's cheap, for me, it's precious!"
This sentence from Natalie seemed to anger him.
The man's brow twitched, his thin lips tightly pressed, and the woman in his arms, looking stubborn and resistant, deeply stimulated him.
