Chapter 1170 Very Lucky to Have You

Aurelia picked up her phone, glanced at Facebook and her text messages, but found no message from Derek saying he was leaving.

Just as she was about to call Derek, someone grabbed her wrist.

Aurelia turned around to see Derek behind her. She punched him lightly on the chest, "I looked all over for you, and you were behind me the whole time without saying a word."

Before Derek could respond, Aurelia grabbed his hand and led him forward to a break room inside a hospital. Derek handed her a juice, "This is for you."

"You went to buy this, huh?"

In addition to the juice, there was also a dessert from a pastry shop.

Aurelia's eyes lit up, "I thought you had left."

"It's already twelve-thirty. You must be hungry and haven't eaten yet."

Derek inserted a straw into the juice and handed it to her.

Aurelia took a sip; it was her favorite flavor.

"Derek, why did you only buy one? If I drink it, won't you have none?"

"I don't like these things."

Aurelia knew that well. Derek was not a fan of sweet drinks and desserts.

But he had gone out of his way to buy these for her.

Aurelia had been busy all morning and was quite hungry. Drinking the juice made her feel extremely satisfied.

"Why did you suddenly come over? Is there something you need to tell me?"

"Eat first, we'll talk after." Derek opened the box of mousse cake for her, revealing a piece of cheese mousse.

"How did you know about this place? This is my favorite dessert. We've only been there once, and you remembered."

Aurelia was very happy and took a big bite. "Try it, try it, it's really good!"

She speared half of the cake with a fork and held it up to Derek's lips.

Derek didn't actually like these kinds of foods.

But seeing Aurelia's bright eyes, he lowered his head and took a bite.

It was dense and sweet, with a strong cheese flavor.

Aurelia couldn't help but ask, "Is it good? Is it good?"

Derek nodded.

"I told you it was good! Next time, I'll buy it for you! I'll get the blueberry flavor."

Derek thought for a moment, then took a napkin from his pocket and wiped the cake from the corner of Aurelia's mouth.

Aurelia said, "When my colleagues heard you were coming, they all wanted to meet you. Let me tell you, I have a lot of admirers."

Derek looked at her smiling face, her smile was infectious, and he couldn't help but smile too. "Then I'm really lucky to have you."

"Of course."

"Alright, next month, I'll treat you and your colleagues to a meal."

"Sure, but why next month? Can't it be this week?"

Derek explained, "Aurelia, I came to tell you something. I might have to go to Meadowbrook City for half a month."

"Meadowbrook City?" Aurelia's eyes widened. "Solstice?"

"Yes."

"Why do you have to go there?" Aurelia looked at him, as if trying to read something from Derek's face.

She knew Derek was very capable, physically adept.

Although she didn't know Derek's exact background during their time together, she knew he wasn't an ordinary person.

Previously, she had thrown a bit of a tantrum, feeling that Derek had become somewhat distant.

But he had seriously handed her his phone, saying she could check his messages and chat history anytime, and he wouldn't be mad.
