Chapter 1245 Ingrained Prejudice
"Natalie, I remember you weren't always this aggressive and threatening. Ever since you met Rachel, you've changed a lot. You don't really know her."
"Yeah, I've only known her for two years, and I've come to see her as simple, kind, genuine, and adorable. But you've known her for over twenty years, and to you, she's just a ruthless noblewoman who pressures you. Jamie, you misunderstand her too much."
She hung up the phone.
Natalie sighed.
This Jamie seemed to have a deep-seated prejudice against Rachel.
"Natalie, the next scene is about to start," Beatrix's voice came through.
Natalie got off the trailer.
Beatrix handed over the script, but Natalie didn't look at it. "I've already memorized it."
"All of it? Natalie, you've memorized all of it?" Beatrix was somewhat amazed at Natalie's professional ability.
The next scene had a lot of lines, a whole page almost entirely focused on Natalie, and the director required a breakthrough with a two-minute continuous shot with live sound.
Natalie smiled as a gentle breeze brushed her cheek. She raised her hand to lightly smooth the hair hanging by her ear.
"I memorized it last night and reviewed it again during lunch today."
"I used to work with an artist who only memorized lines right before shooting. Several artists I've worked with were like that. I thought the entertainment industry was all like that."
"I used to do that too, but I memorize things quickly. I have a lot of downtime, so I might as well read the script. That way, it's not wasted time, right?"
Natalie's usual speaking tone was gentle, but this time the character was straightforward and in a military setting. She would lower her voice a bit because the show was almost entirely live sound, which was a significant challenge for the actors.
This scene was her and Rocco's.
Rocco's acting in period dramas was undoubtedly good, though somewhat technical.
The director watched the monitor. The high investment in this show put a lot of pressure on him, so he raised the bar for the actors' performances.
Surprisingly, Eloy's acting was much more natural than Rocco's. Rocco had done many period dramas, and while his strong features and demeanor were an advantage, his acting lacked depth.
Eloy, though originally a singer, had very natural acting.
Less noticeable acting marks.
Natalie's acting needed no further praise. She honed her skills on the big screen, with delicate and nuanced performances.
It was rare for an actress of her age to have such strong empathy and subtlety.
It wasn't the director's first time using long takes.
Though long takes could improve quality, if the actors' skills weren't up to par, it could backfire. It wasn't used lightly, but at this moment, the director held his breath.
Rocco occasionally had stiff facial expressions, but the camera quickly shifted to Natalie. This shot mainly focused on Natalie.
Natalie's voice was low and restrained, her pronunciation precise and filled with the character's emotions.
"Good, that's a wrap," the director said with a wave of his hand.
Natalie walked over to the monitor to watch the take. Rocco seemed to realize his shortcomings, but he had done his best.
Natalie smiled, "My scenes wrap up around 6 PM today. I heard you guys have night shoots. Good luck."
