Chapter 1431 Natalie, Did You Make an Enemy with Someone
12 PM, inside the hotel.
Heather accompanied Natalie as they discreetly entered the presidential suite on the top floor.
Walking in, she removed her sunglasses.
Looking at Milan and Donny sitting on the sofa.
Natalie cautiously asked Heather to go check if any reporters had followed them. Heather was about to leave. After all, these were troubled times, and they were meeting with Donny—if reporters caught this and posted it online, public opinion would explode.
Donny opened a bottle of red wine and took a light sip. "Relax, this hotel is my property. It's safe."
Natalie breathed a sigh of relief and walked over, sitting across from Milan.
Milan pushed up his glasses. "Miss, don't worry too much about this. I've already sent people to investigate suspicious individuals at last night's banquet. We'll catch whoever drugged you soon. Once the truth comes out, you and Mr. Dickson will be cleared."
Natalie shook her head. It wasn't that simple.
Yes, the drugging was real, and someone framing them was real.
But in front of everyone, she had been lying next to Donny.
Andrea was disheveled in a room with Adrian—that was a fact.
The moral judgment from public opinion would crush them.
The person behind this had calculated it perfectly.
Sending both her and Adrian to hell.
She looked up at Donny, her voice hoarse. "Aren't you worried?"
"What should I worry about?" Donny smiled faintly, looking at Natalie's pale yet still beautiful face. "The public's anger is pointed at you, Natalie. Have you made enemies with someone?"
This reminded Natalie of something.
Natalie had an answer in mind but didn't dare guess.
She didn't want to think the worst of people.
Milan said, "Mr. Dickson, do you remember the waiter who handed you the drink?"
"I don't remember. I got the drink myself from the long table. No one brought it to me." Donny said, pressing his brow, and when he looked up, his eyes were sharp. "Which means..."
Natalie's face went pale, her fingers clenched tight.
She finished the thought.
"Which means any man who picked up that glass would have become a victim in the scheme to frame me for cheating."
It just happened that Donny had taken that drink.
Natalie suddenly felt a chill down her spine.
The person behind this was so calculating, targeting her specifically, and clearly trying to drive a wedge between her and Adrian.
To destroy her.
If it hadn't been Donny, it could have been any man at the banquet.
So who would do this?
Several people flashed through Natalie's mind.
She stood up. "What do you plan to do?"
Donny shrugged. "Up to you. After all, they're targeting you. The people online are cursing you. As for who's trying to harm you, you probably already have an answer. Since you know, don't embarrass me."
"What do you mean embarrass you?"
"You're my half-sister. When you get cursed, I feel embarrassed too." Donny finished his wine, casually propping his long legs on the coffee table. "Want me to step in and teach them a lesson?"
"I'll handle this. Milan Runyon, when you find anything, tell me immediately." With that, Natalie put on her sunglasses and prepared to leave.
Donny's lazy voice called out, "Natalie."
The way he said "Natalie" was different from how Heather and Beatrix said it. Heather and Beatrix spoke with a tone of respect for their boss mixed with familiarity.
But Donny's tone was lazy, casual, and teasing. "Natalie, if you can't handle it, you can come find me."
