Chapter 341 I Never Lie
Natalie said, "Mr. Howard, there's no point in lying about this."
"Natalie, I never lie," he replied, his breath warm against her ear. "I'm not like you, full of lies."
"When did I ever lie?" she shot back, but then remembered she had lied to Alice.
Adrian claimed he never slept with Alice or said those things to her. Natalie wasn't doubting him, just surprised. Adrian hated being deceived, and she was, in fact, a "liar."
A sudden ringtone broke the silence in the car. Adrian reached for his phone, frowning at the caller ID. It was Alice. As he prepared to answer, Natalie grabbed his hand, causing the phone to fall. She kissed him, not wanting him to take the call. She hated Alice.
Adrian's pupils contracted, then he deepened the kiss, holding her tightly. The phone kept ringing, but they ignored it.
After the kiss, Natalie was panting. The phone had stopped ringing. She realized what she had done and looked into Adrian's eyes.
"Sorry for interrupting your call with Alice," she said, picking up her clothes. "I hope you transfer the $40,000 to my account soon, and I won't interrupt you two anymore."
She finished dressing and prepared to leave, but Adrian hooked her waist and pressed her back onto the seat. His rough movements caused her some pain.
"Since you've interrupted, why not continue?" he said.
Natalie pushed against his chest. "You... you just..."
'How could Adrian have so much energy?' she wondered.
"Were you drugged?" she asked, confused.
Adrian's voice was hoarse and sexy. "I'm naturally energetic, no drugs needed. You've experienced it before."
Natalie's face turned red. That wasn't what she meant. "Your body temperature isn't normal. You've been in the private room all night; how could you be drugged?"
Adrian was as clueless as her. He had been in the private room all night, drinking from the same bottle as everyone else. The drinks were brought by Natalie, and she had no reason to drug him. He had accused her out of anger. Deep down, Adrian knew it wasn't Natalie.
But he did feel like his whole body was burning.
"Did you notice anything unusual when you brought the drinks up from the cellar?" Adrian asked.
"No, I didn't," Natalie said, then bit her lip. The drinks weren't brought up by her. Dorothy handed them to her. And she was supposed to be on duty on the second floor tonight, but Betty suddenly came to find her. Betty and Dorothy were both under Emma.
Suddenly, something clicked in Natalie's mind.
