Chapter 504 Green Lace
After that, wherever Natalie went, Bella was right on her heels.
Bella grinned and took a sip of her coffee. "Remember how we became friends in eighth grade?"
Natalie sure did. "Oh yeah, you had to run that long-distance race, but your period hit, so I ran for you. Didn't think helping out would get me a clingy friend for life."
Back then, Natalie was stubborn and kinda a loner, always keeping to herself in class, and Bella just latched on.
Time flew by, and here they were, years later.
Bella let out a big sigh. "Natalie, I'm moving to the Reynolds Mansion tomorrow."
She'd put it off again and again, but finally caved to Cassidy.
Natalie's eyes widened a bit.
Bella had a bitter smile. "I messed up."
Natalie reached out and held her hand.
Bella fought back tears and tried to smile. "I think I won't screw up in the future. Natalie, you know? Austin's a really good guy. I don't know if I like him or if it's just in my head, but I don't wanna hurt him, and I definitely don't wanna be the one to cause him pain."
But Cassidy could crush her and the Swan Group like it was nothing.
No one would say no to Cassidy when faced with that choice.
That evening, they decided to stroll down the street from their high school days.
The street was buzzing, and even back in high school, there were tons of restaurants around, making it a hot spot for dinner.
To the north, a tall building flashed with fancy lights—that was the Imperial Nightclub. Unlike the rest of the area, guests couldn't get into the Imperial Nightclub without dropping at least $10,000 in one go.
Natalie looked at the distant building and got lost in thought.
She smelled the food from the restaurant and asked, "Bella, what are you treating me to?"
Bella puffed out her chest and pointed to the restaurant in front of them. "Pick anything you want."
Natalie smiled. "Thanks for the treat, Ms. Swan!"
It felt like they were back in high school. Every weekend, Bella would bring Natalie here, and Bella would always treat. But they couldn't go back to those carefree days.
Each of them had their own challenges and lives to face.
Natalie headed back to Celestial Garden.
She closed the door and went to the bathroom. After a shower, she saw a missed call on her phone. Someone had called her ten minutes ago.
It was Adrian's number.
She called him back right away.
Adrian asked, "You home?"
Natalie replied, "Yeah."
Adrian said, "I'll be there in 10 minutes."
Natalie nodded. "Okay."
The short convo ended, and Natalie put down her phone, grabbed a hairdryer, and started drying her hair. When she came out of the bathroom, she saw the green camisole dress she had left on the chair.
Her hair was half-dry. She slipped into the dress and checked herself in the mirror, her figure looking great, with her half-dry blonde hair curling over her shoulders.
Just as she was about to check her phone to see how much longer until Adrian arrived, the lights in the room suddenly went out.
In the next moment, a hot body pressed against her, and a familiar scent filled her nose.
Adrian's voice was husky, filled with deep desire. "I miss you."
