Chapter 627 Script Reading

Bella asked, "You beefin' with Rosalie or what?"

Natalie shot back, "Nah, no drama here."

Bella wasn't buying it. "C'mon, you think I can't see through that? Why'd you talk to Rosalie like that then? Or is she sick or something? Spill it, Nat. If something's up, you gotta inform me."

"Bella, chill. I'm heading to the set now, got a shoot tomorrow. I'll fill you in when I'm back." Natalie thought the stuff Rosalie pulled was so wild, no one would believe it, not even her.

Bella nodded. "Alright, take it easy and get some rest."

After hanging up, Bella told the sales assistant to wrap up another rose diamond necklace. This one had a 5-carat pink diamond right in the middle of the flower.

Natalie rolled into Vilniusky in the afternoon.

First time she met Oscar, she'd only seen pics of him before. Oscar had these intense eyes, hair all mixed red and white, mostly white, and shoulder-length, rocking a baseball cap. Way more serious than she imagined.

They had a script read in the afternoon, most of the main cast showed up.

Natalie was the lead, Juniper, a young up-and-comer, was the supporting actress, and Wesley, a Best Supporting Actor winner, was the supporting actor. The male lead was still a mystery, but word was it was finally locked in, though Natalie hadn't heard the deets yet.

Oscar checked his watch. "Let's give it a few more. It's been pouring lately, and he's on his way. Meanwhile, get cozy with the script and your roles." His eyes scanned the room, landing on Natalie.

Natalie looked down.

She wasn't wearing any makeup, her face bare and flawless. From the moment Oscar saw her, he knew she was perfect for the lead. Sure, she got the role through some financial backing, but she looked the part, too.

Oscar was super picky about his rep, so no amount of cash could make him budge if he didn't agree.

Natalie was green, barely any acting chops, but she had this natural purity. Oscar spent two years tweaking the script, hunting for a young actress. If he picked someone like Wendy, a Best Actress winner, her acting would be too polished, too fake, and Oscar wasn't about that life.

That's why he picked Natalie after seeing her pic.

Natalie kept her head down, eyes glued to the script, but she could feel someone watching her. She took a deep breath, her fingers clenching and unclenching under the table, trying to stay cool. Oscar felt like a strict teacher, and it freaked her out.

She tried hard to block out the stares and dove into the script.

The female lead was named Zoey, just an ordinary office worker, and the story kicked off with an accident.

Because of the accident, Zoey got this special ability to see things others couldn't, which brought her a ton of trouble. One night after work, she saw a murder, linked to a wrongful case from ten years ago, and that's where the story took off.
