Chapter 282 The Rules

Alice needed two weeks off for her ankle injury, leaving Kevin in a bind.

Kevin, a newly-promoted director with over a decade of experience in the industry, had directed two hit dramas. This time, he aimed for a modern workplace and wealthy family drama. Nora was cast as the female lead, with Samuel and Alaric joining, creating a lot of buzz.

Then, Dynamic Entertainment added Alice to the cast.

As Adrian's fiancée and future head of Dynamic Entertainment, no one dared to offend her.

Luckily, the script was original, so they could write as they filmed.

The drama was changed to feature two female leads.

Although Amy's character wasn't popular, she had plenty of screen time.

To make it up to Nora, Dynamic Entertainment invested in a period drama for her. Nora reluctantly agreed, treating "Happiness Like a Song" as a filler project.

Samuel, already popular with plenty of resources and awards, joined as a favor to a producer, signing on as a special guest star.

His screen time was limited to a month, and his storyline with Nora had an open-ended conclusion.

Kevin was stressed out.

Alice's ankle injury delayed the schedule, and he had to apologize to Dynamic Entertainment.

Alice was recuperating on set, both for her pregnancy and her ankle.

Rodolfo approached. "Mr. Alexander, what should we do about Alice's scenes?"

Kevin frowned. "Focus on shooting Nora and Samuel's scenes first. For Alice, we'll reshoot her scenes once she's better. In the meantime, find some stand-ins for her back and side shots."

Rodolfo had an idea. "Mr. Alexander, how about we use that Natalie from last time?"

Kevin stroked his chin, thinking. "That waitress does look a lot like Alice."

"Exactly, from certain angles, their body shapes and heights are almost identical. Once Natalie is made up, no one will be able to tell the difference."

"This could work."

"Yes, Alice isn't very committed to her acting anyway. Her performance is subpar, she changes lines, adds scenes on her own, and now she's delayed things too long. The other actors' schedules can't be held up. Let's have Natalie stand in."

Kevin nodded. "That's the only way!"

In the private room, a man had vomited. Natalie and the cleaning staff tidied up. The stain on the carpet was large but not the entire carpet. She calculated the bill and sent it to the front desk, accompanying the man and his assistant to settle the compensation.

After the man left, Natalie asked, "By the way, has anyone claimed the bracelet I found in private room 506 a few days ago?"

"Bracelet? What bracelet?" Front desk clerk Olivia Parker looked up.

Natalie frowned. "You don't remember?"

"You must be mistaken. I haven't seen a lost bracelet. However, Harper Evans from private room 611 did turn in a watch, but we haven't been able to contact the owner yet."

Natalie returned to private room 506. She saw Megan wiping the table inside. She distinctly remembered finding a bracelet and asking Megan to take it to the front desk.

She walked in, closed the door, and went to the window. The room smelled of disinfectant and recent vomit. She opened the window and spoke softly, "Megan, you know the rules of Imperial Nightclub, right?"
