Chapter 826 Misunderstood Him
Natalie was pretty young back then.
Even now, she wasn't sure if her uterus was damaged or not. After being with Adrian for so long, she sometimes forgot her pills but still hadn't gotten pregnant.
Natalie thought, 'Maybe God's punishing me. Adrian, we actually had a kid. If that baby had been born, he'd be almost two now.'
Suddenly, the night felt unbearable for Natalie.
The next morning, still, she got up super early.
Chris had set up a meeting with her at noon to celebrate the box office hitting over $100 million.
When she woke up, her phone was blowing up with calls from Chris. He said "The Nameless Road" was getting awesome reviews, and today's pre-sales had already topped $50 million. At this rate, today's box office could break $100 million.
Natalie could hardly believe it. She checked the box office numbers on her phone, her palms sweaty.
After hanging up with Chris, she started making breakfast.
Her apartment wasn't small, but the big bedroom didn't have a walk-in closet. Instead, it had two big wardrobes, making the living room feel cramped and connected to the open-plan kitchen.
She turned on the range hood.
The range hood was super loud, so she couldn't hear anything outside.
She was really focused on making breakfast.
With "The Nameless Road" doing so well, she decided to treat herself to a nice breakfast.
She fried an egg, boiled some veggies, and was about to make pasta.
Suddenly, she caught a familiar scent in the air. She looked up and saw Adrian standing there, his eyes warm and smiling, looking at her with surprise.
Her eyes lit up with joy. "Why are you here? Why didn't you tell me? Is everything sorted out?"
Adrian glanced at the frying pan. "Your egg's about to burn."
She quickly turned down the heat and took out the slightly overcooked egg.
Adrian took off his coat and hung it on his arm. "Let me handle it. What do you want to eat? Name anything."
"Anything's fine." She was just happy he was there. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming? The range hood's so loud, I didn't hear you."
Adrian said, "I wanted to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"Did you misunderstand something about me?" he asked.
"What?" She blinked.
Adrian, wearing a black sweater that showed off his tall, lean frame, tied on the light pink apron she had taken off. "The child in Alice's belly isn't mine."
Her eyes widened.
"I'm sure I didn't have sex with Alice that night," he repeated.
Her eyes started to redden.
She thought, 'Did Adrian come to explain this to me? He really didn't have sex with Alice that night.'
She sniffled and suddenly remembered something, thinking, 'Then whose child is in Alice's belly?'
Adrian seemed to read her mind and explained, "Alice isn't as simple as we thought. The child in her belly isn't mine, which proves she has other relationships with men."
Natalie knew who that man was.
It was Carlos.
She had a video of Carlos and Alice together.
