Chapter 867 Intentionally Trying to Make Amends
Natalie gave a nod.
Heather chimed in, "Think we should let Rebecca know you own Blue Moon Lake Estate now?"
"Let's keep it under wraps until the event," Natalie replied. She had signed on as a spokesperson for U&M, but she didn't really know Rebecca personally.
Heather paused, then added, "Wendy used to be the face of U&M, but after that plagiarism mess, her team cut ties. Now that things have settled, she might want to patch things up. Wendy's a big deal and she'll be at the gala. We should probably stay under the radar and avoid any drama with her."
"Got it," Natalie said with a nod.
Over at the Cullen mansion.
Alice got an invite to the socialite gala too, but it was an electronic one.
Along with the e-invite, the event coordinator, Ainsley, called Alice to give her the details and apologize. "Sorry, Ms. Cullen, we ran out of paper invites for this event. A lot of socialites are getting the electronic version. Hope you understand."
Alice had planned to crash the banquet with Rachel if she had to, so getting an invite directly from Claire was a surprise.
Even though it was just an e-invite, Alice was still happy. But she kept her cool. "Just make sure it doesn't happen again."
Ainsley, Rebecca's right-hand woman and the gala coordinator, was practically a VP at U&M. Rebecca hadn't planned on inviting Alice, but out of respect for Claire, she had Ainsley send a last-minute invite. Ainsley was taken aback by Alice's lack of gratitude and her haughty attitude.
Ainsley was speechless but kept it polite, smiled, and ended the call.
She finally got why. Despite Alice and Natalie looking alike, they were worlds apart. When Ainsley saw Natalie at the movies, she was instantly drawn to her charm. She was sure the partnership between Natalie and U&M would be a hit.
Not long ago, Ainsley got a call from Finnian, the president of Dynamic Entertainment.
She'd known Finnian for years, and when he got promoted, they even celebrated with a dinner.
Now, U&M was signing a new agent. Even though Wendy and Rebecca were sisters, Finnian had helped set up the original deal. Last year, he connected Wendy with U&M, and things went smoothly. Wendy was supposed to be the spokesperson, with other titles going to Dynamic Entertainment artists. But with Wendy ending the contract, all Dynamic Entertainment artists would probably be blacklisted by U&M on Rebecca's order.
Finnian needed to talk this over with Ainsley.
But Ainsley already knew why he was calling, so she picked up. "Hey Finnian, long time no chat. What's up?"
