Chapter 868 Adding the Finishing Touch

Finnian grinned. "Free? How about we grab a bite?"

"Mr. Harrington, if this is about Wendy's contract, I think I'll pass. If it's about something else, then I'm happy to talk." Ainsley wasn't outright saying no, but with the socialite gala coming up, she had to head to Blue Moon Lake to finalize the details, without much time to go out for dinner with him.

"Ainsley, you know Wendy's our biggest star at Dynamic Entertainment. She ended the contract herself, and we'll handle that. But we've got two other artists tied to the U&M brand as ambassadors. We can't let Wendy's exit mess things up for them; it wouldn't be fair."

Ainsley smirked. "Mr. Harrington, fairness in the entertainment biz? Come on. Besides, I never said I'd drop their titles. Didn't you hear? Natalie is our new U&M spokesperson."

There was a pause on Finnian's end. "What?"

Ainsley went on, "Looks like Heather, Natalie's manager, hasn't filled you in yet. We signed the deal this morning, and we're shooting the commercial this afternoon. Call Heather if you need to confirm. Natalie's film 'The Nameless Road' did great, and she's got a solid image. Rebecca decided she's the new face of the brand."

Ainsley was genuinely impressed by 'The Nameless Road' and became a fan of Natalie. Plus, she was annoyed by Wendy's contract drama, so picking someone from the same company was a subtle way to show Wendy that U&M didn't rely on her.

"I get it," Finnian said. "Natalie's a great fit for the brand. We appreciate your choice."

Finnian's overly polite tone made Ainsley chuckle. "No need for the formalities, Mr. Harrington. Let's catch up sometime. Natalie is indeed talented. Even as a newcomer, her dedication to acting matches U&M's values—resilient, strong, and unbothered by gossip."

After hanging up, Finnian sat back in his office.

Earlier that morning, Wendy's manager, Mira, had reached out to Finnian. Mira was a seasoned manager but not from Dynamic Entertainment; she used to be a deputy editor at a fashion media company before Wendy brought her on board.

At that point, Finnian didn't know U&M had picked Natalie as their spokesperson and hoped to smooth things over.

After all, Wendy was Dynamic Entertainment's top star.

Losing the endorsement wasn't a good look for her career.

But now, it seemed Finnian couldn't help Mira anymore.

Wendy had been too hasty this time.

On the flip side, Natalie's film did surprisingly well. Landing the U&M endorsement was just the cherry on top for her.

On the day of the socialite gala, Natalie was still busy shooting the commercial.

Next week, she had to join the cast of a drama film written by Matthew. She had a three-day cameo with five scenes a day, totaling about two minutes of screen time.

She also had to wrap up several ads and magazine shoots delayed by Christmas, working late into the night.

Heather had a gown ready for her.

This time, the socialite gala hosted by Rebecca had a starlight theme, so everyone had to wear starlight-themed accessories or gowns.
