Chapter 619 Had Been Ste Up
Avery rolled her eyes, "Why the hell would I play this?" She shot a look at Mrs. Bell. "What's the deal? Why'd you bring that up outta nowhere?"
Mrs. Bell's face went all weird, and she handed her phone to Avery. "Check this out, top trending news. It's about Alice and that Rosalie."
[Alice Helps Natalie Take Care Of Her Mother]
Avery almost lost it when she saw the headline.
She tapped on the trending news and a video popped up.
In the clip, Alice was hanging around outside the operating room, waiting for Rosalie. Then Natalie dropped some line like, My mom was your mom. Avery was so pissed she could barely breathe.
She cursed under her breath, 'Alice, you moron!'
Avery jumped up. "Renee!"
Renee shuffled in. "Mrs. Cullen."
Seeing Avery's furious face, Renee got all nervous.
Avery barked, "Get Alice down here, now! What the hell is she up to? What was she doing last night?"
How dare Alice be with Rosalie?
Mrs. Bell and the other ladies exchanged looks and stood up. "Looks like you got stuff to handle, we'll bounce. Let's catch up another time."
Avery couldn't even fake a smile as a storm of anger clouded her face. She nodded, and a servant quickly showed the ladies out.
Alice dragged herself downstairs in her PJs. "Mom, I haven't even had my coffee yet. Why are you yelling?"
Avery was on the couch, eyes like daggers. Alice felt a pang of guilt, clueless about what had set Avery off. She hurried over and plopped down next to her, trying to act all sweet.
Alice figured it was 'cause she slept in and didn't greet her friends, making Avery look bad.
Alice said, "Mom, I swear I'll get up early next time. I got home super late last night. Don't be mad, okay?"
Avery's eyes narrowed. "Where were you last night, coming home so late?"
Alice's eyes darted. "It was a friend's birthday, so I stayed out a bit longer."
"Friend's birthday? Now you're lying to me?" Avery whipped out her phone. "Look at this. Rosalie, a lowly servant, is she worth your time? Your concern to her is surely misplaced. Are you just trying to piss me off?"
"Mom, no way. You're overthinking it." Alice knew just mentioning Rosalie would send Avery into a rage.
Alice glanced at the phone, and sure enough, she was the top trending news.
The video Heather shot last night had blown up with millions of views.
And Natalie had tagged her, saying stuff like "My mom is your mom," all that fake crap. Alice clenched her teeth. Natalie did it on purpose!
She'd been played by Natalie again!
Alice quickly explained, "Mom, it was a setup by Natalie. Last night, I just saw Rosalie faint. No one was around, so I took her to the hospital. I even had a reporter ready to catch Natalie slipping. She loves Rosalie. She'd do anything for her. Rosalie was sick, and she didn't even show up. Instead, I was there. I wanted to use this to boost my image. The reporters were all set, but then Natalie tricked me."
She added, "Mom, don't be mad. How could I ever think of a lowly servant like Rosalie as family? It's an insult to me. In my heart, the only one who truly matters is you."
