Chapter 767 Life and Death Have Nothing to Do with Her

Alice was all about dressing up and blowing cash like it was nothing. If she ever left the Cullen family, she'd be broke in no time. She had her eyes set on becoming the lady of the Howard family, and she was almost there.

Rosalie knew she was a shameless piece of work.

She apologized to Natalie, but deep down, she only cared about her real daughter.

Natalie saw it coming and gave Rosalie a cold stare.

Rosalie thought Natalie had bailed when she didn't hear a response for a while.

But when she looked up, there was Natalie, standing a few feet away, looking at her like she was dirt.

"That's all you got to say?" Natalie laughed. "Your life is a joke. You've never cared about Stanley, Ryan, or me, only Alice. I should've seen it ages ago. I've been by your side for twenty years, but we're from different worlds. You'd rather protect your real daughter who doesn't give a damn about you than me, the one who sees you as her only family. You say sorry, but Alice is still your number one."

Rosalie shut her eyes.

Natalie said, "I get it now, Rosalie. From now on, your life or death means nothing to me. Even if you drop dead in front of me, I won't shed a tear. I won't tell anyone I'm Emmett's daughter, but that doesn't mean no one will find out."

Natalie turned to leave.

Before she touched the doorknob, she stopped and turned back.

"Actually, even if you didn't beg or threaten me, I wouldn't have said I'm Emmett's daughter," Natalie's voice was icy. "I hate Emmett more than I hate you. I'll never acknowledge someone like her as my mother. And Curtis, he's the biggest hypocrite I've ever met. I hope Curtis, Emmett, and Alice are stuck together forever! The Cullen family is disgusting!"

Natalie couldn't forget Curtis's fake act. Or how Emmett made her lose her first child!

That was why, even after knowing she was a Cullen, Natalie never spilled the beans.

Seeing Emmett reminded Natalie of the miserable years in the Cullen family's backyard, and Emmett's constant scolding.

After Natalie left, Rosalie crumpled to the ground, crying her eyes out.

In the hallway.

Natalie told the caregiver, "Take good care of Rosalie, but don't tell me anything about her."

The caregiver nodded.

Heather saw Natalie's red eyes and came over to hold her hand.

Natalie smiled and said, "From now on, Rosalie's life or death is none of my business. Even if she dies, I won't cry."

Heather hugged Natalie, and Natalie hugged her back.

At that moment, Natalie's trembling body seemed to calm down.

Natalie thought she had a heart of stone, but she didn't.

Family ties were always a knife in Natalie's heart.

Rosalie's knife hurt the most and cut the deepest.

Natalie suddenly remembered her life in high school.

Rosalie had already needed dialysis every week back then.

Natalie only had five bucks a day to live on.

She had evening classes.

At dinner, Natalie pulled out leftovers from her bag, leftovers from the Cullen family kitchen.
