Chapter 962 Moving Residence
"I finally get it now. It's easy to help when things are going well, but tough to step up when someone really needs it," Madeline said.
Rebecca replied, "Natalie isn't just some ordinary person. You'll see what I mean eventually."
Madeline nodded, "Her acting is top-notch. She’s bound to get more opportunities."
Rebecca shook her head. "It's more complicated than that. She's Lauchelle's goddaughter and the new owner of Blue Moon Lake. The financial backing she has is way more intricate than we can cover in a quick chat."
Madeline widened her eyes in surprise. "The new owner of Blue Moon Lake?"
Blue Moon Lake, that dream estate, had so many admirers. Who would've thought it would end up with Natalie?
Before Rebecca spilled the beans, Madeline thought Natalie was just another actress with some connections in the industry.
But this fashion gala seemed a bit dull for Natalie.
Still, a lot of eyes were on her.
Natalie’s makeup was on point, and her dress was a Vistalia-style piece that showed off her stunning figure. Her curly hair was casually draped, giving her a laid-back beauty. She wore a coffee-colored shawl, occasionally greeting people and signing autographs.
Suddenly, Heather walked over and handed her a pearl handbag.
Natalie pulled out her phone; it was a call from Adrian.
"Hello." The noise around her was pretty loud. Natalie stood up, looking for a quieter spot on the second floor.
"At the fashion gala?"
"How’d you know?"
Adrian was in his study, a tablet on his desk streaming the event live. "I'm watching the live stream."
There were plenty of shots of Natalie, making everything else fade into the background. Adrian’s eyes were glued to her.
Natalie found a quiet lounge. "It should wrap up in about an hour."
"Get some rest after it’s over, don’t wear yourself out," Adrian said.
"Since when did Mr. Howard start worrying about me?" Natalie teased.
"You're making it sound like I'm always cold."
"Aren't you? Everyone knows Mr. Howard has an ice-cold face and an even colder personality."
"Don’t you know if I’m cold or not?"
"Sometimes cold, sometimes warm."
"Natalie, you’re lucky I’m in Vachilit and can’t fly over to teach you a lesson right now."
"Teach me a lesson? How? You said you can’t fly over here overnight." Natalie wasn’t scared.
"Even if there’s no airport, I have a private jet."
Natalie put on a serious face. "You know I’m just kidding. It’d be exhausting for you to come here. Plus, you’ve got company stuff to handle. I’ll come see you during my weekend break."
"I heard from Derek about Bella’s situation. I’ve ordered an investigation, and we should have news soon. Don’t worry." Adrian knew how close Natalie and Bella were. Bella’s sudden disappearance must’ve really shaken her.
At the mention of Bella, Natalie couldn’t hide her worry, "She must be with Nicholas, but there’s no proof. Bella called me, but I didn’t expect Nicholas to move her."
"The Reynolds family is now in Cassidy’s hands. Austin is in a coma. Even though Nicholas seems carefree and uninterested in the company, he’s not as simple as he looks."
