Chapter 1381 Elmer's Conditions
Seeing that Elmer hadn't budged, Kamille said, "Come on, Elmer, our families go way back. Cut me some slack, will ya?"
Elmer slowly raised his hand and took off the clown mask, revealing a face as perfect as a sculpted angel. Under the bright crystal chandelier, his appearance was breathtaking, like a masterpiece made of glass and jade.
Several socialites covered their mouths, trying to stifle their gasps.
Even Kamille was momentarily stunned by his face.
Who would've thought that the rumored gravely ill Elmer would have such a strikingly handsome face?
Elmer's voice was cold, but his presence was commanding. "Until we find Eve, no one leaves. If anyone tries, they'll be going up against the Roach Family of the South District. Go ahead, test me!"
The other guests in the banquet hall were unhappy with Elmer's actions, but no one dared to speak up.
No matter how prestigious their statuses were, on Redwood Isle, no one dared to defy Elmer. Even Kamille had to respect his authority.
The atmosphere in the banquet hall instantly became tense.
Elmer and his men searched everywhere but couldn't find any trace of Eve.
He pressed his lips together, his eyes narrowing.
Scanning the room, he declared, "Whoever helps me find Eve, I'll give them the entire South District harbor management profits for three years."
This statement caused an uproar.
Three years of profits.
Everyone knew that the most lucrative industries on Redwood Isle were tourism and port operations. For Elmer to offer this as a reward showed how important Eve was to him.
Many people began actively searching.
In the lounge.
Natalie had just finished removing her makeup when a few people came by looking for someone.
Natalie knew that Elmer's wife had suddenly gone missing.
Outside, footsteps were constantly coming and going, and there was a knock on the door.
Heather went to open it.
It was a waiter, delivering fruit and late-night snacks to some of the distinguished guests, as per Kamille's request, to soothe the guests temporarily confined by Elmer.
"Ms. Teeger, please enjoy," the waiter said, setting down the items before leaving.
Natalie asked, "Still no sign of Mrs. Roach?"
The waiter shook his head. "No, we've searched the entire banquet hall and found no trace of her. Plus, the surveillance footage shows no sign of her leaving."
After the waiter left, Matilda said, "Are we really going to stay here all night? If we can't find Mrs. Roach, are we not going home?"
Zanna sighed, "Looks like it. Elmer may look frail and scholarly, but I've heard he's pretty ruthless. We're all stuck here because of him."
