Chapter 28 Fooled by Her
Alice snapped back to reality. She was Adrian's fiancée. If she got pregnant and Adrian found out she was fooling around, it would be a disaster.
However, Carlos, who was on top of her, just laughed at her reaction and didn't stop.
Realizing what he had done, Alice's eyes widened in shock. "You!"
"What's the big deal? Having my kid isn't bad. Adrian's got women all around him. He's been spoiling that maid who took your place. Who knows how many times they've slept together? She might even be pregnant already. If you go back to Adrian with my kid, it wouldn't be so bad, right? The Howard family would be ours."
Alice had never thought about it that way.
But Carlos had a point. If Adrian really was seduced by Natalie and found out she was the woman from the hotel, she'd be done for.
She would never let that happen!
"Carlos, did you just say Adrian has been spoiling Natalie?" Alice asked.
Carlos sneered, "Adrian even scolded Rachel for Natalie today. He usually dotes on Rachel the most. Natalie has a remarkable talent for manipulation. In just a few days, she's managed to win over a cold-hearted guy like Adrian."
Alice gritted her teeth, recalling the last time they had dinner at her home. Rachel's attitude towards her was dismissive, and Adrian had just brushed it off.
She clenched her fists, trying to convince herself. "Adrian is only nice to her because he thinks Natalie is me!"
But deep down, fear was creeping in.
Natalie had to leave Vachilit!
Alice realized she needed a plan, so she turned to Carlos. "Carlos, you have to help me."
Early Monday morning, Natalie rushed to the classroom door, out of breath. Adrian was already at the podium.
He glanced at his watch, not even looking at her. "Seven minutes late, Natalie. You've skipped six classes this semester."
"Professor, I'm sorry." Natalie hadn't expected Adrian to be so strict.
"Stand outside!" He adjusted his glasses and continued teaching, ignoring her.
Natalie stood there, stunned for a moment, then bit her lip and moved to the hallway.
She had been too greedy, craving his kindness and thinking the issue had blown over. She forgot that all of Adrian's recent tenderness was actually meant for "Alice."
Her phone buzzed with messages from Bella, trying to comfort her.
After class, Adrian walked to the door and sneered, "Six missed classes. Don't even think about getting credit for this course."
Oh, no!
Natalie panicked.
Recently, Rosalie's condition had worsened, forcing Natalie to skip classes to take care of her. If Natalie didn't get credit for this course, she'd have to delay her graduation.
Her mother's treatment required a lot of money, and the kidney transplant surgery was particularly expensive. She needed to start working and save up as soon as possible.
Watching Adrian walk away, Natalie bit her lip and hurried after him.
She called out while running, "Adrian, Adrian!"
She ran all the way to Adrian's office, panting. "Adrian, I promise I'll be on time from now on."
