Chapter 1310 Betting
Because Rachel hadn't returned, he temporarily sat in Rachel's seat.
He was sitting directly across from Natalie.
Natalie looked up and met a pair of cold, gloomy eyes.
After dinner.
Ruben asked Donte and Adrian to go upstairs to the study.
Natalie guessed it was about the Howard Group and its real estate subsidiary, Skybright Real Estate Group.
It wasn't just Natalie who thought this way; everyone else did too.
Claire couldn't help but ask, "What do you think Ruben is planning?"
Although he gave the Howard Group to Adrian to manage, he gave the most profitable subsidiary to Donte and brought Donte back to Vachilit.
And Donte returned to Vachilit alone.
His mother, Elowen, did not come back with him.
Joe said, "Let's just see what Ruben has planned."
Melissa added, "Donte has been away for many years, but after all, he is still a son of the Howard family. Ruben is trying to be fair. Skybright Real Estate Group has several projects next year that are indeed very lucrative."
Even though it's a subsidiary, Donte has full control over it.
About half an hour later, Donte came downstairs first.
Although he wasn't familiar with everyone in the family, the servants still treated him with great respect.
After greeting a few elders in the living room, he went to the bathroom.
Then he planned to go to the nearest small balcony to smoke a cigarette.
As soon as he walked onto the balcony, he saw Natalie sitting there, on a wicker chair, looking at the scenery outside the window.
Donte held a cigarette but didn't light it. "Am I disturbing you?"
Although he said this, he didn't intend to leave.
Natalie just frowned slightly at the intruder and called out, "Donte."
Natalie's voice was soft and gentle.
Donte's expression changed slightly. He smiled and glanced out the window. "It should rain tomorrow."
Natalie naturally replied, "The weather forecast says it won't rain until the day after tomorrow."
So she booked a morning flight to avoid any delays.
Donte opened the window and extended one hand outside. "How about we make a bet on whether it will rain tomorrow?"
Natalie didn't want to bet and shook her head.
Donte said, "Are you afraid of losing?"
Natalie smiled faintly. "No, I think you're right."
Donte laughed. "Natalie, you're a very peculiar woman to me."
"If I bet with you and win, what's in it for me? If I lose, there's nothing in it for me either. Why should I bet?" Natalie's voice was gentle.
"If you win, you can make a request, and I'll fulfill it." Making Donte owe a favor was rare, not just in Vachilit, but nationwide.
"But I don't think you can fulfill any wish of mine, and I don't find your offer tempting."
Donte raised an eyebrow. "Alright, then you make a request."
Seeing this, Natalie realized Donte seemed insistent on betting. "Fine, let's bet now. I bet it won't rain outside in ten minutes."
"Natalie, you're doing this on purpose," Donte asserted.
Natalie gave a sly smile. "So, do you want to bet?"
"Bet!"
