Natalie shot Heather a look that could freeze fire. "If this mess keeps blowing up, I'll hand over the original pics—crystal clear and from all angles. The truth will spill out. Alice has taken too much from me; it's time she pays up."
Heather stared at Natalie.
The Natalie standing in front of her now was a whole different beast from the one just a minute ago.
This version of Natalie made her feel a bit on edge. She backed Natalie all the way; it was Natalie who got her this gig, trusted her, and pulled her out from under Samantha's thumb. "Natalie, what's the plan?"
Natalie said, "You gotta find someone."
Heather asked, "Who?"
Natalie replied, "Track down the guy in these photos. If I'm right, he hangs around a few streets and some specific spots."
Heather felt a knot in her stomach. "Has Alice already found this guy? If we go now, are we too late?"
Natalie felt a bit woozy. She rubbed her temples, her pale cheeks flushing slightly, her voice a bit raspy. "This account was set up by someone Alice hired. She's not that sharp. She's jealous, nasty, and dumb. She just wants to drop these pics to stir up drama and humiliate me, but she probably didn't think to buy off the guys in the photos first."
Natalie's eyes narrowed. "If it were Avery, she'd have bribed some big-shot Facebook bloggers to leak the pics quietly and steer the initial buzz."
And she would've already bought off the guys in the photos.
That way would screwed Natalie over and make it way harder to clear her name.
Mindy hadn't handled this account right at 10 AM. She knew it was a setup, not a cash grab.
The account dropped four pics, each showing a woman's face with the dudes next to her blurred out, along with the key parts.
In one pic, the woman was almost topless, her chest pixelated. She had makeup on, her eyes looked glazed, and there were two half-naked guys around her. These pics blew up on Facebook instantly.
