Chapter 572 On Fire
"Man, there's no chick in Dynamic Entertainment Media I can't get with. I don't care who you think's got your back—Finnian? That loser? What's he got to offer you? Stick with me, and you'll have everything you want," Herman sneered, grabbing Natalie's hoodie.
Natalie, rocking a hoodie and sweatpants, wasn't easy to undress. Herman got all flustered. She twisted and fought back, shocked that Herman would dare pull this crap at Dynamic Entertainment Media.
"Touch me, Herman, and I swear you'll regret it big time!" Natalie yelled.
Herman laughed, "Wow, look at you. Even Mr. Abernathy doesn't talk to me like that. Did Finnian promise you something? That loser isn't even fit to shine my shoes. Stick with me, and you'll get all the resources you want. Even your top agent Mindy has to respect me. You're just a slut who's been around, so don't act all innocent with me."
He leaned in to kiss her.
Natalie twisted her neck away, gagging at his stench. She grabbed something and chucked it at him. Herman screamed, "You filthy bitch, how dare you hit me?"
In her panic, Natalie had grabbed a glass.
She hurled it at him, hitting his back. The glass didn't break, but it pissed Herman off. He yanked at her sweatpants, exposing her smooth waist, his eyes going wild. "Damn, you're hot."
He sniffed her, catching a whiff of her floral scent. "You smell amazing. Sleep with me, and you'll get all the perks. Why fight it? Piss me off, and forget about getting any good gigs here. What can Mindy offer you? Please me, and you'll get everything—big movies, luxury endorsements, you name it."
Natalie bit her lip hard. "Herman, touch me, and you'll regret it."
Just then, loud banging on the door interrupted Herman. He got annoyed. "What now? Dylan, this better be good."
Dylan yelled from outside, "There's a fire!"
Hearing that, Herman jumped up, not even bothering with his pants, and rushed out. He opened the door to thick smoke. Covering his mouth and nose, he heard Dylan say, "Mr. Simmons, we gotta go; the fire's spreading."
Herman bolted with Dylan.
Smoke started creeping into the office. Natalie coughed, leaning on the sofa armrest. Her clothes were a mess, but still on. She sighed. Who would've thought Herman would pull this crap at Dynamic Entertainment Media?
Natalie gritted her teeth, covering her mouth and nose as she stumbled out.
A wave of choking smoke hit her.
Everything was a white blur.
She struggled to find her way.
Her phone wouldn't stop ringing. "Hello?" she answered.
"It's me, Heather! Natalie, where are you?" Heather's voice came through.
"I just walked out of Herman's office," Natalie replied.
"Stay put, I'm coming to get you. Don't worry, the smoke's just irritating, not harmful. Find a corner to hide!" Heather said anxiously.
About five minutes later, Heather showed up, helping Natalie and giving her a towel to cover her nose. The air felt a lot fresher. Heather led her to the elevator.
As they stepped in, Natalie asked in confusion, "Isn't it dangerous to use the elevator during a fire?"
