Chapter 1006 Be Popular In Girls
Hearing that, Bronte felt a sharp sting in her chest. She stepped back, clutching her heart, tears streaming down her face. "It was my choice. If it wasn't for my unrequited love for you, you'd be dead in Skyhaven a month ago!"
Leon frowned, his face going pale. "I appreciate you risking your life for me. I owe you. If you ever need anything, I'm here."
"I don't want your help, I want you!" Bronte screamed, her voice breaking.
"Sorry, I can't give you that," Leon said firmly.
"Leon, you'll regret this! That woman only cares about your status and money; she doesn't love you. One day, you'll see my feelings are real," Bronte spat out before storming out of the CEO's office.
After she left, Leon's face was still pale. He picked up the phone and said, "Royce, come to my office."
A few moments later, there was a knock on the door. Sitting at his desk, Leon called out, "Come in!"
The door opened, and Royce, dressed in a sharp black suit, walked in respectfully. "Mr. Johnson, what can I do for you?"
"Get me a new secretary. Replace the one outside," Leon ordered.
Royce looked surprised and asked cautiously, "Is there something wrong with the current secretary?"
"Is my office a place where anyone can just walk in? She hasn't done her job properly," Leon said firmly.
"Understood, I'll handle it right away," Royce replied and quickly left the office.
That evening, as Leon walked into the bedroom, he heard Milo crying.
Isabella was pacing back and forth, holding Milo, but he was still wailing.
"What's going on?" Leon asked, putting down his suit and walking over to Isabella.
"I don't know. He's been crying non-stop since he woke up," Isabella said, looking worried.
"Let me try," Leon said, reaching out to take Milo from her.
"Milo, it's okay. Daddy's got you," Leon murmured as he walked around the room.
Soon, Milo stopped crying. Isabella smiled in amazement. "I held him for half an hour, my arms are numb, and he kept crying. But as soon as you hold him, he stops!"
Leon looked down at Milo and said, "Milo, did you hear that? Mommy's complaining about you. From now on, when she holds you, you have to cry so she can't do without me, got it?"
Isabella playfully smacked Leon on the back. "If I let you take care of Milo, you'll spoil him!"
"Then he'll be a hit with the ladies," Leon joked.
"You're getting more shameless by the day," Isabella said, giving Leon a look.
"I'm only shameless for you," Leon said, glancing at her while holding Milo.
Isabella smiled and turned to leave. "I'm not going to argue with you. I'm going to check if Kathy's done cooking."
"Tell Kathy to make a couple more dishes. I'm starving today," Leon called after her.
Isabella didn't turn back but gave a nod.
Good times always flew by. Leon, Isabella, and their son Milo were living the dream.
Isabella was getting the hang of being the CEO's wife, though she still felt out of place at high-society events. Leon never pushed her and just let her be.
Three months zipped by. Milo was now six months old, munching on solid foods, sitting up, and giggling all the time.
Leon and Isabella were head over heels for him. When Leon wasn't swamped with work, he'd play with Milo, feed him, and give him baths at night.
By day, Leon was the tough CEO; by night, he was the doting husband and dad.
No one at Johnson Corporation knew that the usually stern Leon had such a soft side. At work, employees steered clear of him, and even the women who had crushes on him didn't dare get too close.
After three months of hard work, Isabella had shed 20 pounds. She was still a bit heavier than before, but she was almost back to her pre-pregnancy shape.
That afternoon, Isabella stood in front of the mirror, wearing a beige sweater dress, a floral scarf, short hair grazing her ears, and diamond earrings, looking both classy and elegant.
"Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Anderson is here," Kathy called from outside.
"Coming!" Isabella said, turning and walking out of the dressing room.
"Susan, I've been waiting forever. Quick, tell me, how do I look?" Isabella twirled in front of her friend.
Susan's eyes lit up. She gave Isabella a once-over and smiled. "Gorgeous."
"Really?" Isabella asked, beaming.
"When have I ever lied to you? You look even more stunning than before you had the baby," Susan said with a grin.
Isabella glanced down at herself. "It's been over three months. I've been working my butt off, running five miles every day,but I'm still six or seven pounds heavier than before."
"You were too skinny before. Now you're just right. Guys don't like women who are too skinny!" Susan said with a wink.
Isabella laughed. "Leon says the same thing, but I wasn't sure if he meant it."
"Of course he does. Haven't you noticed those cheating married men always have curvy mistresses?" Susan joked.
"Alright, I'll stop here and won't lose any more weight," Isabella said, smiling.
Susan glanced at her watch. "Let's get moving. I've only got two hours. I have to go to a party with Seb tonight, so I need to get home and change."
"Two hours should be plenty to pick out Valentine's Day gifts for them," Isabella said with a smile.
Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and they had planned to go shopping together to find gifts for Leon and Seb.
This Valentine's Day was also Isabella and Leon's first as a married couple, so Isabella was taking it very seriously.
