Chapter 513 The Bouquet Toss

Susan tried to shove him off with all her might, but she had to play it cool. No need to make a scene.

Luckily, Seb finally let go, and Susan could finally breathe. She shot him a look that screamed, "You're too much," but Seb just shrugged it off with a smirk.

The emcee chuckled and said, "Looks like our groom's a bit worn out, huh?"

The crowd erupted in laughter.

"Alright, folks, time for the bouquet toss! Let's give the groom a break and have the bride step up!"

Susan stepped forward, grinning, and grabbed the bouquet wrapped in ribbons from the staff.

The emcee's voice boomed through the place. "The bride's gonna toss the bouquet, symbolizing love and marriage. If a single guy or gal catches it, they're next in line for true love!"

Hearing this, the single folks in the crowd surged forward, but the staff kept them in check.

Susan scanned the crowd for Isabella but couldn't spot her. She really hoped Isabella would find her true love.

Not seeing her, Susan turned around, closed her eyes, and chucked the bouquet over her shoulder with all her might!

She heard the commotion behind her and turned to look, but couldn't see where the bouquet had landed.

Following everyone's gaze, Susan saw the bouquet stuck on the steel frame holding up the spotlight!

Susan's jaw dropped. Did she really just throw it up there?

Everyone stared at the bouquet on the steel frame. After a moment of stunned silence, the emcee quickly said, "Looks like the bouquet's undecided, so it's gonna hang out up there for a bit."

The crowd burst into laughter again.

Soon, someone brought a long pole and knocked the bouquet down.

The bouquet flew in one direction, and the crowd surged that way. But then, it landed right in the arms of a young woman in a white off-shoulder dress!

Seeing the bouquet in her arms, Susan smiled and turned to Seb, saying, "Guess it's meant to be."

"Just like you wanted," Seb said with a grin, wrapping his arm around Susan's waist.

At that moment, Susan glanced into the crowd and froze.

She saw Todd, sitting in a wheelchair at the front, staring at Catherine not far away.

Today, Catherine looked stunning, and Susan noticed a softness and passion in Todd's eyes that she'd never seen him show towards Carol.

Carol was sitting next to Todd, but her eyes weren't on him, so she didn't notice where his gaze was directed.

Today, Carol was decked out in a burgundy embroidered dress, with a shawl over her shoulders. She was dripping in emerald jewelry—earrings, necklace, bracelets, rings. Her hair was styled in a bun with a purple-red flower at her temple. Her makeup was flawless, giving off major rich-lady vibes.

Seeing this, Susan's brow furrowed a bit, feeling a twinge of worry.

But luckily, Carol was moving to Maple Valley, so Todd and Catherine wouldn't have many chances to cross paths.

Even though Todd had been in politics forever, when it came to love, he was a mess. Susan was really scared that sharp-eyed Carol would catch on, and knowing her, she wouldn't let it slide.

Seb must've noticed Susan spacing out and asked softly, "What's up?"

Susan quickly replied, "Oh, nothing. Just super excited. Didn't sleep well last night."

Seb seemed satisfied with that and pulled her closer.

Isabella never in a million years thought the bouquet would land in her arms. Holding it, she felt a bit giddy because catching the bouquet meant you were next in line for true love.

She already had a crush on someone, but it was clear that person never noticed her.

Everyone looked at Isabella with envy. When she looked up, she locked eyes with Leon, who was standing nearby.

"Congrats," Leon said, one hand in his pocket.

"Thanks," Isabella replied with a smile.

The earlier awkwardness seemed to melt away. She actually liked Leon, but he always seemed to look down on her, so she had to act tough and argue with him, never backing down. She couldn't let anyone know she liked him, or she'd totally lose face.

"Maybe you won't be a spinster for long," Leon suddenly said with a smirk.

Isabella frowned, catching the mockery in his eyes.

She rolled her eyes at him and said, "Why do you care? Even if I never get married, what's it to you?"

"Me, worry about you? As if," Leon scoffed.

"You better not be," Isabella shot back, giving him a look before walking away with the bouquet.

Isabella sat alone in a corner, holding the bouquet, her eyes a bit red.

Leon’s words had really stung, but she couldn't help her feelings. The worse he treated her, the more she liked him.

For a moment, Isabella was really mad at herself. How could she be so weak?

The wedding banquet wrapped up after two in the afternoon.

Everyone was beat. Carol, Rylee, and Andrew were staying in the hotel rooms, so Seb and Susan took them back to their rooms first.

In the living room of the luxury suite, Carol sat on a big sofa, Todd in his wheelchair, Rylee next to Carol, Andrew standing behind the sofa, and Seb and Susan in the middle of the room.

Susan had changed into a red embroidered silk dress with a new hairstyle. She looked so stunning. Seb kept sneaking glances at her because he'd never seen her dressed like this before.
