Chapter 46 Moody
"I don't eat with my hands," Seb protested, looking up.
"That's not gonna fly. It's a bad habit, and you need to change it!" Susan snapped at Seb.
"Why should I listen to you?" Seb frowned. Who did she think she was, talking to him like that?
"Because I made all this food. If you don't like it, then don't eat!" Susan grabbed the bowl in front of him.
Seb glared at Susan. Honestly, Susan felt a bit uneasy, but she couldn't back down now. So she stared right back, thinking, 'Don't be scared of him, or it'll be too embarrassing!'
The next moment, Seb suddenly stood up, and Susan took a step back, startled. He was tall and strong. She knew she couldn't take him in a fight.
Then, Seb said flatly, "I'll go wash my hands." He turned and headed to the bathroom.
Watching him leave, Susan breathed a sigh of relief. She patted her chest, thinking, 'I thought Seb was gonna get violent!'
Seb came back, sat down, grabbed the bowl from Susan's hand, and started eating.
In no time, Susan noticed the food on the table was almost gone, devoured by Seb. She couldn't help but frown. 'Has Seb not eaten for days? Why's he eating like he's starving?' she wondered.
Under Susan's gaze, Seb looked up and saw her staring at him. He paused, then took a piece of rib from the soup and put it in Susan's bowl. "Why aren't you eating?"
"Looks like I'll have to cook more from now on," Susan muttered, lowering her head to fork the rib into her mouth. But as soon as the smell hit her nose, she felt nauseous and ran to the bathroom, covering her mouth.
Her pregnancy symptoms were severe, and she felt like she was going to throw up her guts in the bathroom.
Seb wasn't idle either. He hovered around her, patting her back, handing her water, and giving her a towel.
"Thanks," Susan said, taking the towel and wiping her mouth. She was quite pleased with his current behavior.
After leaving the bathroom, Susan ate a little and then started to clean up the dishes.
Seb quickly stepped forward and said, "You go rest. I'll clean up."
Susan couldn't help but stare at him. "Do you even know how?"
Seb was a privileged guy who probably had never touched a dish in his life.
"There's no skill involved in washing dishes. You go rest," Seb insisted, and started cleaning up.
Leaving the dining room, Susan still felt uneasy. She sat on the sofa in the living room, watching TV while waiting for him to finish.
A series of crashing sounds came from the kitchen, and Susan immediately jumped up.
Running to the kitchen, she saw broken bowls and plates all over the floor. Susan couldn't help but exclaim, "What are you doing?"
"My hand slipped, and they fell," Seb said, looking like a kid who had done something wrong, holding two pieces of broken porcelain with a guilty expression.
Seeing him like this, Susan was stunned. She didn't expect him to have such a moment. She deliberately put her hands on her hips and said, "Hurry up and clean this up, got it?"
"Got it. You go rest," Seb said, gently pushing Susan out of the kitchen.
"Don't cut yourself. You can't even handle a simple task," Susan muttered as she went upstairs, holding her waist.
Lying in bed, Susan felt incredibly satisfied.
Haha, Seb finally got a taste of being scolded by her. Thinking about it made her feel relieved.
But then Susan thought, 'Seb was a bit moody and arrogant, but he was actually a good person.' She never expected him to help her wash dishes and let her scold him. Maybe this was what normal married life was like. Susan felt like she was getting into the role.
Not long after, the door to the guest room suddenly opened.
Susan looked up and saw Seb's stern face again.
"What do you mean by this?" He stared at Susan coldly.
"What do you mean?" Susan was confused by his question.
"Aren't we husband and wife?" Seb continued to ask.
"Yes," Susan nodded. Although she thought to herself that they were legally married, there was no love between them.
"Then why are you staying in this room?" Seb said angrily.
Hearing this, Susan stared at him blankly. She thought, 'What does he mean? Is he upset that I'm not staying in the master bedroom? Does he miss me? What a joke, that can't be it. Does he want me to satisfy his physical needs even while I'm pregnant? He's simply inhumane!'
Susan was at a loss for words and then found an excuse. "Even though we're married, we need our own space. It makes life more comfortable, don't you think?"
By the time Susan finished speaking, Seb's expression had already darkened. Susan quickly pressed her lips together, realizing she might have said something wrong.
"Suit yourself." Seb said, slamming the door as he left.
Susan's brows furrowed and then relaxed. She couldn't understand what was wrong with Seb. Was being moody just his personality?
Seb returned to the master bedroom, feeling irritated by everything. He picked up his phone and made a call.
"Mr. Anderson, what can I do for you?" Ellie's voice came from the other end.
"Cancel the person scheduled for tomorrow morning's business trip. I'll go myself." Seb said.
"But the tickets for the assigned person have already been booked."
"Cancel them! Didn't you understand what I said?" Seb's voice suddenly grew louder.
"Yes, I understand. I'll book your ticket right away," Ellie said, then hung up.
Throwing his phone on the bed, Seb stood by the window with his hands on his hips. He suddenly felt ridiculous. 'How could such a small matter ignite me anger so easily? Or was it Susan, who was currently staying in the next room, that could ignite my anger?' he thought.
Seb shook his head. He felt like he was getting too caught up in this. It was time to cool down.
The next morning, Seb, dressed neatly, came downstairs and saw that Susan had already set the breakfast table.
"Breakfast is ready," Susan said with a smile, wearing an apron and looking at Seb.
Last night, Susan deliberated. Now, she dined on Seb's food, resided in his home, and made use of his possessions. Offending Seb was out of the question as it wouldn't benefit her. Hence, her future approach had to be handled delicately.
