Chapter 702 Holding Each Other Tight

After seeing Leon off, Susan returned to the bedroom.

Seeing Seb lying on the pillow with his shoes on, Susan frowned and walked over.

It took Susan a lot of effort to take off Seb's coat and shoes.

A thin layer of sweat had already formed on Susan's forehead.

Just as she sat down on the edge of the bed to rest for a moment, Seb suddenly turned to the side and vomited onto the floor!

"Don't throw up on the floor," Susan said, but the wooden floor in front of the bed was already a mess.

At that point, the state of the floor was the least of her worries; she was really afraid he might choke, so she quickly went over to pat his back. Since the floor was already dirty, she might as well let him throw up completely.

After vomiting, Seb lay back on the pillow motionless.

By this time, the small bedroom was already filled with a pungent smell.

Next, Susan began to clean up the mess on the floor.

After cleaning the floor, Susan saw that Seb's shirt and pants were also stained, so she took off all his clothes.

The smell in the room was strong, so Susan covered Seb with a thick quilt and opened the window.

By the time she had washed and hung up Seb's clothes and the room no longer smelled pungent, it was already 2 AM.

She closed the window and turned on the air conditioner.

"Water, water," Seb started murmuring from the bed.

Susan quickly poured a glass of water, then sat by the bed, struggling to lift him up and bring the water to his mouth.

After drinking the water, he lay back on the pillow and fell asleep again.

After several hours of hard work, Susan was exhausted and sleepy, so she lay down next to Seb and fell asleep.

Not long after lying down, Susan heard his murmuring in her ear.

She looked up and saw that Seb's face was flushed, and his whole body was trembling.

Susan panicked and went to touch Seb's forehead.

It was burning! He had a fever.

Susan quickly got out of bed. Fortunately, there was fever medicine stored in the nightstand, so she quickly gave it to him, but he was still trembling.

With no other option, Susan took off her clothes, got into the bed, and held his body in her arms.

Feeling Susan's warm body, he held Susan tightly in his arms.

His arms were strong, and Susan could hardly breathe, but at this moment, neither of them needed to think too much; they just needed to hold each other tightly.

By dawn, Susan touched Seb's forehead and found that the fever had gone down. She had been planning to take him to the hospital if his fever didn't break.

At 8 AM, the golden sunlight shone through the window, and the chirping of sparrows woke the person in bed.

When Seb opened his eyes, he found that he was not in his own home. After looking around the room, he realized he was in Susan's bedroom.

Turning his head, he saw that the big bed was empty except for him. Seb couldn't remember the events of the previous night, only fragmented images: a pounding headache, chills wracking his body, and the comforting warmth of a soft, familiar embrace. He didn't need to ask to know who it had been.

The hangover from last night still made his head dizzy, so he closed his eyes and continued to sleep.

But he couldn't fall asleep, and eventually, he heard Susan's voice making a phone call outside the bedroom.

Susan was making breakfast in the kitchen when Isabella suddenly called.

"Hello? Why are you calling so early?" Susan immediately answered the phone.

"Just wanted to ask if Seb is up yet?" Isabella's voice came through immediately.

Hearing this, Susan blushed, glanced in the direction of the bedroom, and replied softly, "No, why?"

Isabella cheered and said, "That's great! Leon doesn't have to pick up Seb so early and can stay with me a bit longer!"

Hearing this, Susan teased, "Are you guys still in bed?"

"So what if we are? Aren't you guys too?" Isabella retorted.

"I'm almost done making breakfast," Susan said.

Isabella laughed and said, "No way! After a busy night, you can still get up to make breakfast?"

Susan knew she was thinking something inappropriate and said, "He threw up all over the place last night and then had a fever. Of course, I was busy all night. Unlike you, lying in bed all night!"

"Since nothing happened last night, you can rest after breakfast and gather your strength," Isabella said and then laughed heartily.

"Goodbye, Isabella," Susan said, shaking her head. "I need to get off the phone. By the way, I'm taking the morning off. Keep an eye on things at the office, will you?"

"Me too, me too!" Isabella chimed in.

Since Leon rarely had time to spend with Isabella, Susan didn't want to ruin Isabella's good time and said, "Call Dorothy and ask her to keep an eye on the office!"

"I knew you were the best," Isabella said with a smile and hung up the phone.

After hanging up, Susan shook her head with a smile. She could imagine Isabella and Leon being affectionate at that moment.

After making breakfast, Susan tiptoed to the bedroom.

As soon as she stepped into the bedroom, she was met with a pair of deep eyes.

When did he wake up?

At this moment, Seb was lying on the pillow, staring at Susan, who was wearing a light blue loungewear set.

Susan had deliberately worn this loungewear set because it looked very conservative.

"You're awake?" Susan stammered in surprise.

"Why am I here?" Seb then stared at Susan and asked.

"Leon brought you here," Susan said, lowering her eyes.

She couldn't admit that she had gone to the bar to bring him back from another woman's entanglement. That would be embarrassing for her and make him think she cared too much about him.

Hearing this, Seb scrutinized Susan for a while, then frowned and reached for his phone on the nightstand.

Seeing that he was about to call Leon, Susan quickly said, "Leon isn't up yet. Call him later. Breakfast is ready; you can eat now!"

Susan then turned and left the bedroom.

After a while, Susan didn't hear any noise coming from the bedroom. It seemed he really listened and didn't call Leon.
