Chapter 15

On Monday, Susan started her new job at Prosperity Group's headquarters.

She dressed to impress, wearing a black business suit, a burgundy blouse, and slightly heeled shoes. Her hair was straight and loose, giving her a sharp, energetic look. She wanted to make a great first impression on her new boss.

But then, a traffic accident delayed her by twenty minutes.

Even though she got up early, she still ended up running late.

Rushing into the building, she saw a crowd waiting at the elevator.

She checked her watch and frowned. It was three minutes to nine. She was definitely going to be late.

Being late on her first day would be a disaster. Her boss would surely think less of her.

"No way, I can't be late," she thought and headed for the stairs.

The office was on the twentieth floor, but she figured she could make it if she ran fast enough.

She worried about the baby in her belly but decided she couldn't afford to care right now.

Just then, a janitor stopped her.

"Miss, are you in a hurry? If you don't mind the dirt, there's a freight elevator over there," she said kindly.

Susan felt like hugging the janitor. "Thank you!" she said and ran to the freight elevator.

When she got there, it was packed with boxes, leaving only a narrow space.

She squeezed in, trying not to dirty her clothes, and pressed the button for the twentieth floor.

Just as the doors were closing, a man's arm shot in.

The doors opened, and a burly man in a black suit squeezed in.

Susan frowned. The space was so tight she was pressed between the wall and the boxes.

The man's body was almost against hers, making her uncomfortable. She quickly crossed her arms over her chest.

She glanced at him, noticing his black suit and burly build. Her head barely reached his chin, and she could faintly smell tobacco on him.

The scent made her nauseous. She had to cover her mouth to hold back the urge to vomit. Her morning sickness had been getting worse.

"You seem to have gained a bit of weight," a familiar voice said from above her.

Susan looked up sharply and saw a familiar face.

The man frowned slightly. "It's only been a little over a month, and you don't recognize me?"

Susan suddenly remembered who he was - the male escort who had cost her over a thousand dollars and left her with a baby!

She never dreamed she'd run into him at the headquarters. 'Could he be working here too?' she thought.

'What should I do? I don't want to get involved with a man who sleeps around.'

She looked up and saw Seb's lecherous gaze fixed on her. Clearly, he was trouble!
