Chapter 623 Can't See the Kids
Upon hearing this, Seb took a drag from his cigarette, then nodded and said, "Alright, if you want to wait, then wait!"
After saying that, Seb didn't even glance at Esme and walked straight out of the office.
Seeing Seb come out, Ellie quickly stood up.
"Cancel all my appointments for this afternoon!" Seb ordered without looking back and headed straight to Leon's office.
Seb forcefully pushed open the door to Leon's office.
Leon, who was deep in thought at his desk, stood up. "Mr. Anderson?"
Seb closed the door behind him, took a drag from his cigarette, and walked anxiously to Leon's desk. "I need to use your office for the afternoon."
Hearing this, Leon scrutinized Seb and immediately knew he was in a bad mood.
"No problem, I'll leave now." Leon got up to leave.
"Find out who exactly is targeting George." As Leon reached the door, he suddenly heard Seb's cold voice from behind.
Leon turned to look at Seb and said, "Mr. Anderson, didn't you say you didn't want to get involved? Especially since your fight with George at the hospital last time, you two haven't been in touch much."
"Can't I change my mind now?" Seb's voice grew louder in response.
Seeing that Seb was in a foul mood today, Leon didn't want to get scolded, so he quickly nodded in agreement. "Sure, of course, sir."
Hearing this, Seb realized he had lost his composure and frowned as he explained, "I just find it strange. I admit, I made things difficult for George. But I never intended to ruin him. This feels… calculated. Like someone wants to destroy him and pin it on us."
Leon nodded. "I think so too. I'll look into it right away."
Before leaving, Seb added, "Esme is in my office. I told her I was going to a meeting, so don't let it slip."
"Oh? Okay." Leon found this odd.
Because Esme had indeed tried to get close to Seb, but Seb had never given her a chance. How did she get into Seb's office this time, and why did Seb allow her to stay for so long? It was indeed strange.
But seeing Seb's bad mood today, evident from his chain-smoking, Leon just nodded and left.
Leon first called his subordinates to investigate George's matter, then went to Ellie to understand what had happened earlier.
After hearing Ellie's account, Leon finally understood why Seb was in a bad mood today. The person who could make him so out of sorts was someone Leon should have thought of earlier—Susan had been here.
After understanding the situation, Leon told Ellie, "Since Ms. Davis wants to wait, let her wait. And remember, don't send any fruit or snacks in."
"Oh." Hearing Leon's words, Ellie could only nod, thinking, 'Did Ms. Davis offend Mr. Johnson before?'
The entire afternoon, Seb napped in Leon's office, smoked, and paced around, feeling utterly bored.
It wasn't until dusk that Seb returned to his office door.
Seeing Seb, Ellie quickly stood up and said, "Mr. Anderson?"
"Why haven't you left yet?" Seb looked at his watch; it was already half an hour past quitting time.
Ellie glanced at the CEO's office door and smiled. "Mr. Anderson, did you forget? Ms. Davis is still waiting for you in the office. She won't leave, so I can't leave either."
Hearing this, Seb frowned and seemed to mutter to himself, "Still here?"
Then, Seb pushed the door open and entered.
Having waited the entire afternoon, Esme quickly stood up when she saw Seb return, and greeted him charmingly, "Mr. Anderson, did the meeting just end? You must be exhausted!"
"Ms. Davis, sorry to keep you waiting." Seb said expressionlessly.
"It was no trouble at all," she assured him. "I had nowhere else to be."
Seb wasn't in the mood for pleasantries and said, "How about we go out for dinner?"
"Sure." Esme was more than willing.
Then, Seb and Esme left the Prosperity Group building.
After work, Susan missed Hayden and Spring so much that she called Kathy, wanting to visit them at the villa. She hadn't seen them for many days and missed them dearly.
The phone rang several times before Kathy finally answered.
"Ms. Wilson?" Kathy's voice was hesitant.
Susan didn't care much and quickly asked, "Kathy, is he coming home for dinner tonight? I want to visit Hayden and Spring."
"Well..." Kathy stammered.
"Did something happen?" Susan sensed something was off.
Then, Kathy said, "Ms. Wilson, Mary, Hayden, Spring, and I are not in Maple Valley right now."
Hearing this, Susan immediately panicked. "Not in Maple Valley? Where are you?"
How could they not be in Maple Valley? Hayden had to attend preschool, and Spring was just over two years old. Where could they have gone?
"Mr. Anderson asked Mary and me to take the kids on vacation. We've been away for a week now." Kathy replied.
"Vacation? Where are you vacationing? Why didn't you inform me beforehand?" Susan was anxious.
"We're abroad. Mr. Anderson didn't want me to tell you our whereabouts. But don't worry, Hayden and Spring are doing great here. They love this place. I'll have Mary send you some photos of them later." Kathy tried to reassure Susan.
"When are you coming back?" Susan's head was spinning. She felt that Seb sending Hayden and Spring on vacation at this time was not simple.
"Mr. Anderson didn't say. I think we'll be here for a while." Kathy answered.
"A while? How long? Am I not going to see them for months?" Susan was getting frantic.
At this point, Kathy tentatively asked, "Ms. Wilson, did you do something to upset Mr. Anderson?"
Hearing this, Susan immediately understood. Seb had deliberately sent Hayden and Spring away. He did it on purpose.
She had to find Seb and get to the bottom of this.
