Chapter 1290 Daily Practice

Hearing this, Cecilia smiled and said, "Practicing every day, how could I not get better?"

Just then, Daryl stepped forward, wrapped his arm around Cecilia's waist, and smirked, "We practice every day in bed too, but I haven't noticed you getting any better there."

"You're so annoying, always so inappropriate!" Cecilia's face blushed at his teasing, and she playfully slapped his chest.

"How is that inappropriate? I'm just stating a fact," Daryl said, his eyes twinkling mischievously as he looked at Cecilia.

"Alright, if you don't get downstairs now, you're gonna be late," Cecilia said, pushing Daryl towards the door.

"By the way, there's something I need to tell you," Daryl said seriously as he reached the door.

"What is it?" Cecilia asked nervously, seeing the serious look on Daryl's face.

"It's about you and Mom," Daryl replied.

Hearing this, Cecilia's expression immediately became serious too.

Seeing her reaction, Daryl quickly grabbed her shoulders and frowned, "Don't get so tense whenever Mom is mentioned, okay? This time, it's good news."

"What good news?" Cecilia asked, her lips curling slightly.

This past week with Daryl by her side had been wonderful for Cecilia. She didn't have to think about anything, just enjoy the happiness of being with him.

When Azalea was around, she wouldn't make things difficult for Cecilia in front of Daryl. But today, Daryl was going back to work, and without his protection, Cecilia knew she would face a lot of cold stares and harsh words.

However, Cecilia also knew she couldn't avoid it, and she didn't want to move out with Daryl, causing a rift between him and his parents. So, she had to endure it.

"Last night, I talked to Mom. She said that from now on, she'll let us handle our own lives and won't interfere. She promised to get along with you and not give you a hard time," Daryl said with a smile.

Cecilia was stunned by this news.

It was indeed good news, but Cecilia remained skeptical. Azalea had a deep-seated prejudice against her, and with her current inability to have children, how could Azalea's attitude change so drastically?

"Really?" Cecilia asked.

Seeing Cecilia's doubt, Daryl said, "I know Mom's change is sudden, even I was surprised. Maybe my firm stance made her not want to cause a rift between us. Regardless, it's good news that she said she won't target you anymore. After all, she's an elder, and we should respect her. I know you've suffered a lot before, but I won't let you suffer anymore. If Mom doesn't change, I'll move out with you."

Hearing this, Cecilia could only nod. "Don't worry, I'll always respect Mom. And this situation is partly my fault..."

"I don't want to hear you say that. The last incident was my fault for not taking care of you. It's my responsibility, and we'll face the consequences together," Daryl said, pulling Cecilia into a tight embrace.

Lying against his warm, broad chest, Cecilia closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face, but a happy smile appeared on her lips.

After breakfast, Cecilia saw Daryl off.

Once Daryl left, Cecilia felt a bit lost. Maybe it was because he had been with her these past few days, and now she suddenly felt very lonely.

After the servants cleaned up the leftovers and put away the expensive tableware, Cecilia went to the living room.

She saw Azalea sitting on the couch reading a newspaper. Cecilia approached cautiously and said, "Mom, I'm going upstairs to wash Daryl's clothes from yesterday."

Usually, Azalea would nodded without looking up, and Cecilia would rush upstairs to wash and iron Daryl's clothes. The morning was limited, and after helping the servants clean the house, it would be time to prepare lunch. Who knew if Azalea would have other tasks for her?

But this time, Azalea put down the newspaper, looked up at Cecilia, and said kindly, "From now on, let the servants wash Daryl's clothes. You should supervise them. Washing and ironing every day is too tiring for you."

Cecilia couldn't believe her ears. Azalea had always kept her busy, afraid she would have a moment of rest. What had changed?

Before Cecilia could respond, Azalea continued, "I know you young people have different thoughts and ways of doing things. Even though you're not working now, you might like to read, listen to music, or meet friends. Do whatever you like. I won't interfere anymore. Just take good care of Daryl and fulfill your duties as his wife."

Hearing this, Cecilia's face lit up with joy.

No wonder Daryl said Mom had come around and wouldn't be harsh on her anymore. She had been skeptical, but now she had to believe it.

Noticing Cecilia's silence, Azalea frowned and said, "Cecilia, did you hear what I said?"

Cecilia quickly nodded, "Yes, Mom, I heard. I'm just a bit... a bit..." she stammered, unable to find the words.

Azalea smiled and said, "A bit surprised that I'm suddenly so easygoing, right?"

"Mom," Cecilia said, lowering her head in embarrassment.

"I've come to realize that we should let you young people live your own lives. Your father and I will focus on our health and happiness. How you live your lives is up to you," Azalea said with a smile.

"Thank you for understanding, Mom," Cecilia said, feeling deeply moved.

She never expected Azalea to become so reasonable all of a sudden. Cecilia was both surprised and excited.

Azalea then waved her hand and said, "Alright, go do something you enjoy."

"Yes, Mom. I'll supervise the lunch preparations," Cecilia said quickly.

"Good," Azalea nodded and picked up the newspaper again.

Despite Azalea's words, Cecilia still washed Daryl's clothes herself.

She felt that only by doing everything for him personally could she show her love. Daryl had done so much for her, and she felt that taking care of him in every way was the least she could do.
