Chapter 856 Heart-wrenching

Ellie got up, strolled over to Susan, and gave her a good look. "You're scared of seeing Seb treat me well, huh? If that's the case, you can leave now!"

Susan knew she couldn't let Ellie get to her. Ellie wanted her to back off, but as long as there was a chance, she would never give up.

Susan turned to leave.

She'd only taken a few steps when Ellie called out, "You know deep down how this ends, which is why you don't dare to stay. If you still want to win Seb back, aren't you just dreaming?"

Susan stopped in her tracks.

She didn't want to stay because she felt guilty.

But she wasn't about to let Seb marry Ellie.

Maybe things weren't as Ellie said.

Maybe Seb hadn't fallen for Ellie at all. Seb was a responsible guy; maybe he was just grateful to Ellie.

Susan believed he was just grateful. That night at the club, he clearly still had feelings for her; he was just tied down by his sense of duty.

And that day when he hurt his head, he was really happy and relaxed with her.

Susan turned back to Ellie and said, "If Seb comes back and I don't see the lovey-dovey scene you described, but instead see that he's just grateful to you?"

"If that's the case, I'll back off. I love Seb, but I can't marry a man who's got another woman in his heart," Ellie said seriously.

"You won't go back on your word, right?" Susan eyed Ellie with distrust.

Ellie sneered. "Susan, if Seb doesn't love me, shouldn't you be happy? It means he still loves you deep down, and you've got a shot."

Susan lowered her head.

Ellie was right. Whether Ellie backed off or not, if Seb didn't love Ellie, it meant he hadn't forgotten her, and she'd have plenty of chances.

Just then, they heard a car brake outside.

Ellie stepped forward, grabbed Susan's wrist, and whispered, "Seb's back. Hide."

She pulled Susan behind a big screen.

Susan heard the door open and steady footsteps.

Those footsteps were definitely Seb's; she recognized them instantly.

Ellie whispered, "Remember our deal. Don't come out, or you'll regret it!"

Then Ellie quickly walked out from behind the screen.

Hearing those steady footsteps so close, Susan's heart started to race.

"You're back?" Ellie greeted him.

"I told you not to wait up. Your stomach just got better; you should rest more." Seb's voice was full of concern.

Ellie grinned and pulled Seb over to the couch. "Hang on a sec, I made your favorite cream of mushroom soup."

She headed into the kitchen.

A moment later, she came back with a steaming bowl of soup.

As she passed the screen, she shot a glance at Susan.

Seeing the soup, Susan frowned. Seb loved cream of mushroom soup.

Ellie handed the bowl to Seb and smiled. "Drink up; I spent ages making it."

Seb took the bowl and said, "You’re not feeling well; you shouldn’t be overdoing it. Let the maid handle this stuff."

"I like making soup for you myself!" Ellie said, hugging Seb's arm.

Seb smiled, took a sip, and nodded. "Not bad."

Then Ellie suddenly jumped up. "Oh, I bought a dress today. Let me change into it, and you can tell me if it looks good."

"Sure," Seb nodded.

Ellie walked into a bedroom, leaving the door wide open, and started changing.

From where Susan was hiding, she could see Ellie changing. She thought, 'They’re so casual, not even closing the door. They must have made love it a bunch of times.'

Susan's face grew paler, her mind racing with chaotic thoughts.

Since Seb's car accident, it had been almost three months.

Three months, nearly a hundred days. If they had sex every day, that would be a hundred times.

Thinking of this, Susan's heart trembled. She couldn't believe that a man and a woman could have sex a hundred times without developing any feelings.

The next moment, Susan saw Ellie walk out of the bedroom, and her eyes widened.

Ellie was wearing a skimpy nightdress.

Sky blue, soft silk, thin straps, the hem barely reaching her thighs, showing off her most alluring skin and curves.

Susan's hands clenched into fists.

She should have expected this. Ellie would use the most provocative and stimulating scenes to confront her.

Susan felt flustered and regretful.

No man could resist such a scene. Moreover, Ellie was now Seb's fiancée.

Susan didn't know what she would do if she saw something disgusting. Ellie told her not to come out, but she would be really desperate.

Seb frowned as he saw Ellie walking slowly towards him.

"Ellie," Seb called softly.

Ellie smiled seductively and sat beside him. "I saw this nightdress at the mall today and thought it looked nice, so I bought it. Is it too revealing?"

Seb pursed his lips and replied, "It's no big deal. As long as you like it, it's fine."

Hearing this, Ellie rested her head on Seb's shoulder and smiled. "I knew you were the best to me. I also bought a red one. I'll wear that one on our wedding night. Tonight, I'll wear this one first!"

"Alright." Seb's smile was a bit forced at this moment.
