Chapter 955 We Only Talk About Money

After that day, Isabella was in a funk.

But Leon? He acted like nothing happened. He kept doing the chores and taking care of her, even better than before.

Isabella, who was usually so sure of herself in love and hate, was all mixed up. She knew Leon didn't plan on marrying her, but she couldn't help how she felt about him.

In the days that followed, Isabella felt anxious and insecure, but she was also super happy whenever she was with Leon.

One weekend, Leon took Isabella to a law firm.

A woman in a black suit smiled at Leon and said, "Mr. Johnson, Mr. Vasquez will be here in five minutes. Please have some tea while you wait."

"Okay," Leon nodded, and the woman left the room.

Watching Leon sit calmly across from Francis Vasquez's desk, Isabella frowned and asked, "Are you in some kind of trouble? Do you need a lawyer?"

Leon smiled and pulled Isabella to sit beside him. "Don't worry, I don't have any legal issues or troubles."

Isabella was even more puzzled. "Then why are we at a law firm on a weekend?"

At that moment, Leon handed a stack of documents to Isabella. "These are some of my properties and apartments. I want to transfer them to your name."

Isabella was stunned. She looked at Leon's smiling face and then quickly glanced at the documents in her hand.

The documents were property transfer agreements, and they were for free transfers, including two storefronts and an apartment in the downtown area, as well as a storefront and an apartment in Maple Valley. Given the high property prices, especially in such international cities, these properties were worth millions of dollars.

"Leon, what do you mean by this?" Isabella asked, looking up at Leon.

Leon stopped smiling and said seriously, "These properties are half of my real estate assets. I also have some antiques, jade, and watches."

"Why are you telling me this?" Isabella stared at him, confused.

Although Isabella knew Leon was worth millions, she wasn't interested in his wealth. It was enough that he could support their future life together. But now, it seemed uncertain if they even had a future, so it didn't concern her.

Leon suddenly took Isabella's hand. "Even if we get married, these are my premarital assets. By law, only the appreciation of these assets would be shared with you. I know you feel insecure being with me now, so I'm transferring half of my assets to your name to show my sincerity. Although I can't give you marriage now, I will be more responsible to you than if we were married. I hope you understand my intentions and that we can be happy together every day."

Isabella stared at Leon, totally floored. After a long pause, she shook off his hand, feeling insulted and hurt. "Leon, what the heck? Yeah, I'm not rich, but do you really think I want to marry you just for your money?"

Seeing her hurt expression, Leon quickly tried to explain, "No, that's not what I meant. I just want to give you some security!"

"I don't need your security!" Isabella stood up abruptly, grabbed her bag, and stormed out.

"Isabella, please think about it seriously. I really love you!" Leon called out as she reached the door.

Hearing that, Isabella took a deep breath, then turned around and forced a smile. "Leon, I love you too. I think we're doing great now. I don't need you to marry me or give me your assets. I feel secure with my job and can support myself. Really, I don't need marriage."

At this point, Isabella couldn't keep up the act. She didn't feel as relaxed as she pretended to be.

"Isabella." Leon frowned.

The next moment, Isabella opened the office door and almost bumped into a man in a suit who was entering.

Isabella glanced at the man, guessing he was Francis, and then quickly left.

"Mr. Johnson, why did Ms. Brown leave?" Francis asked, surprised.

Leon replied, "We haven't reached an agreement. We'll sign the papers another day."

Back home, Isabella sat on the bed, exhausted.

Leon was willing to transfer half of his assets to her name but didn't want to marry her. Isabella was really confused.

She knew many wealthy people were reluctant to marry because they feared losing their assets in a divorce.

But what Leon was doing would cost him more than marrying and divorcing her. She couldn't understand his thinking.

However, Isabella didn't doubt his feelings for her. His eyes were sincere, and his care and attention were beyond what most men could offer.

After thinking all afternoon, Isabella finally made a decision.

That evening, when Leon returned, he found Isabella wearing an apron and busy in the kitchen.

Leon quietly walked up behind Isabella. She tensed up when she heard his footsteps.

Isabella's hands froze while washing vegetables, and then she felt his arms wrap around her waist from behind.

"Were you angry today?" Leon asked gently from behind.

Isabella hesitated before shaking her head. "No."

Leon turned her around to face him. "But you're not happy."

Isabella looked seriously into Leon's eyes and said, "Leon, I thought a lot this afternoon. You're right. We're happy together now. We both love each other. That's enough. As for the marriage, maybe we're not ready yet. Let's just wait it out."

"Isabella, I..." Leon frowned at her words.

Isabella smiled and said, "Let's just focus on our feelings from now on and not talk about marriage or money. So don't think about transferring any properties to me."
