Chapter 421 What Do You See in That Old Man?

Seb let out a snarky laugh. "Seriously? That old man's over fifty. Why are you so wrapped up in his business?"

Susan's face turned red with anger. She stepped up and snapped, "What did he ever do to you? Why are you hell-bent on wrecking his business? You're being a total jerk!"

Seb's eyes narrowed, and he spat out, "What did he do? He kept taking my woman out to get wasted. He's got some shady intentions, for sure. I gotta put him in his place."

"I'm just your ex-wife, not your property. I was just having dinner with a client. How did it turn into this mess?" Susan shot back.

Susan thought Seb was being ridiculously petty or just looking for an excuse to blow off steam.

Seb glared at her and demanded, "What's the deal with you and Derek? If you wanna find another guy, why go for such an old man?"

Susan felt a wave of anger and humiliation. She raised her hand to slap Seb. "You're disgusting!"

But Seb caught her wrist mid-air.

"Who's really the disgusting one here, huh?" Seb's voice dripped with jealousy. Just thinking about Derek made his blood boil.

Seeing the rage in Seb's eyes, Susan knew she had to tread carefully. Otherwise, her trip would be pointless, and Derek's business might be toast by tomorrow.

"Can you be reasonable? The first time I had dinner with Derek, it was just a coincidence. The second time, he helped me out a lot, and out of courtesy, I had to thank him. As for getting drunk, it was because I was in a bad mood, and it had nothing to do with Derek. Isn't it a bit too much to take it out on him?" Susan tried to reason with Seb.

Seb tightened his grip on Susan's wrist, narrowed his eyes, and asked, "You asked him for help? What kind of help?"

Susan knew that if she didn't explain today, he wouldn't let it go.

So, Susan decided to be straightforward. "It was about Dorothy. She divorced Henry, got depressed, and the doctor recommended treatment at a sanatorium in South Maple Valley. But the sanatorium had a tight bed situation. Derek happened to be friends with the director, so I asked him to help get a bed for Dorothy. Derek was very helpful, and that's how Dorothy got into the sanatorium. It's that simple. Do you have any other questions?"

By the end, Susan's tone had also turned sour, and she felt the pain in her wrist from the pressure he was applying.

Susan naturally left out one detail that she only found out Derek was friends with the director after she asked him for help.

She could see Seb's strong dislike for Derek, so she had to say it this way, hoping he wouldn't make things difficult for Derek. If Derek's business suffered because of her, she would feel terribly guilty.

After hearing Susan's explanation, Seb narrowed his eyes. "The sanatorium in the southern suburbs that specializes in mental health treatment?"

Susan nodded.

At this point, Seb's eyes coldly stared at Susan, and his grip on her wrist tightened even more.

Susan winced in pain, not getting what she said wrong.

While she was still trying to figure it out, Seb spoke up, "Susan, what do you take me for? Why didn't you come to me when you had a problem and instead went to another guy for help? You'd rather get drunk with him than come to me. Are you that scared of owing me a favor?"

"I didn't mean that," Susan said, feeling guilty but still stubborn.

She definitely couldn't admit she didn't want to ask him for help. He was a loose cannon right now, and it was best not to set him off.

"Didn't mean that? Then what did you mean?" Seb's piercing eyes made it hard for Susan to breathe.

"Can you let go of me first... and then we can talk?" Susan felt like her wrist was about to snap.

But Seb was losing it. "You've been so cold to me lately. Is it because you've got a thing for that old man?"

Susan couldn't take it anymore and snapped back, "Seb, I'm warning you, if you keep talking crap, don't blame me for getting nasty!"

Honestly, Susan had zero confidence in her threat. She knew she couldn't take him on physically.

Seb's eyes were bloodshot, staring at her so intensely her legs started to shake.

Then, out of nowhere, Seb leaned in and kissed her!

Susan was stunned. When she realized what was happening, she tried to fight back.

But the more she resisted, the angrier he got. He kissed her hard, like he was punishing her, and her lips hurt like hell.

He pinned her against the big desk, his hands on the back of her head and her waist, making it impossible for her to move.

He was like a brick wall, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't push him away. Eventually, she felt dizzy from lack of air and could only let him have his way.

Just then, the office door swung open!

The female secretary walked in with a tray, and seeing the two of them tangled up by the desk, her hand shook, causing the two cups of coffee on the tray to crash onto the carpet with a dull thud.

Hearing the noise, Seb finally let go of Susan. Susan looked up and saw the secretary who had stopped her at the door, staring at her in shock.

At that moment, her and Seb's position was really compromising. She quickly tried to push him away.

But he didn't budge, his hands still gripping her shoulders, his face dark as he shouted towards the door, "Who let you in?"

"I... Mr. Anderson, I came to deliver coffee," the secretary stammered.

She looked super embarrassed, with brown coffee all over her feet and some splashed on her skirt.

Susan's face turned bright red. Damn Seb, even with someone here, he wouldn't let her go. She was half-sitting on the desk, wearing a pencil skirt, with her long legs exposed. This scene was beyond embarrassing, and the secretary probably thought she had come to seduce Seb.
