Chapter 239 Let's Be Together

Hearing Susan's voice, George turned and saw her serious face. He couldn't help but frown.

Susan stared at George, her right hand clenched into a fist. She gathered all her courage, but her legs were trembling. This decision meant saying goodbye to the past and starting fresh, for both her and Spring.

George looked at Susan for a moment and said, "Let's talk inside."

"Okay." Susan nodded.

George turned, took out his keys, and opened his apartment door.

After he went in, Susan followed and closed the door behind her.

Susan walked up to George, looked him in the eye, and said, "George, I accept your proposal."

George frowned, confused. "What do you mean?"

Susan bit her lip and hesitated. "Did you change your mind? If so, forget I said anything."

She turned to leave, but George grabbed her wrist.

Susan felt his grip and looked up to see his intense gaze. "You mean you agree to be with me?"

"Yes." Susan nodded firmly.

She had thought about this for days in the hospital. Though hesitant, she couldn't be selfish. Spring would be happier with George. Susan couldn't let her feelings cause Spring to grow up in a single-parent home.

"Are you serious?" George was overjoyed but could hardly believe it.

Seeing his joy, Susan forced a smile and nodded. "George, I'm doing this for Spring, but I promise I'll make an effort to find love in my heart for you."

George listened seriously, then asked, "Are you done?"

"Yes." Susan nodded.

George smiled. "Susan, you're always so straightforward. I admire your honesty, but your words today are a bit harsh."

Susan furrowed her brow. She had consented to be with George for Spring's sake, but her admission that she didn't love him struck a painful chord with George. In a sudden move, George stepped forward, grabbed her waist, and lifted her up.

Suspended in the air, now eye-level with George, Susan looked down in surprise. "George, what are you doing?" she exclaimed, a mixture of panic and curiosity in her voice.

George said with a smile, "Susan, listen. I'm confident that you'll fall in love with me, deeply and forever!"

Susan was stunned as George, holding her waist, started spinning around the room.

Scared, Susan placed her hands on his shoulders and shouted, "George, what are you doing? Put me down!"

But George, having fun, moved even faster and laughed heartily.

Eventually, Susan felt the thrill too, and their laughter filled the room.

George spun around with Susan for several minutes until they were both dizzy and finally stopped.

They leaned against the sofa, panting and dizzy.

Susan felt the room spinning. She leaned her head back, smiling. She had never felt this carefree and exhilarated.

George, catching his breath, looked deeply at Susan.

"What are you looking at?" Susan asked softly.

George reached out, pinched her chin, and said, "You're really beautiful."

Susan smiled. "There are so many beautiful women around you; aren't they all prettier than me?"

Before Susan could finish her sentence, George took a step closer and tenderly kissed her, silencing her words.

Susan was taken aback by the unexpected gesture. She never imagined another man would kiss her, let alone Sebastian's brother, George. Yet, here she was, agreeing to be George's girlfriend in this unusual yet undeniable moment.

Susan felt resistant to the kiss. She wasn't ready for this. His touch made her uneasy and on edge.

Despite her discomfort, Susan hesitated to push him away. After all, they were now officially dating, weren't they?Struggling to adjust to the situation, Susan attempted to reciprocate George's kiss, but found herself unable to fully engage. She placed one hand on his shoulder to show her acceptance.

Maybe it was this hand on his shoulder that stirred George's emotions. He not only kissed her but also wanted to touch her.

George's actions made Susan's body tense. She was scared. She knew what George wanted.

Could she meet his desires at this moment? It all felt rushed, overwhelming, and entirely too much to handle. Susan even regretted being alone with George.

However, she had decided to be with George. She reminded herself not to play coy; she despised artificial behavior and had no intention of adopting it.

She thought, 'It's better this way. Let everything happen. Then there will be no turning back, and I will willingly be with George. We will form a happy family with Spring.'

So, after thinking it through, Susan didn't reject George's touch. She leaned back on the sofa, spreading her arms and legs, letting him do as he pleased.
