Chapter 1230 Don't Be Angry

Cecilia was walking alone on the street, looking at the passing pedestrians, and suddenly felt very lonely and helpless.

She wandered around for a long time, her feet were sore, and then she remembered that she couldn't keep wandering like this and needed to go home quickly.

She took out her keys and opened the door, only to see the lights in her house were on, which startled her!

She glanced towards the sofa and saw a figure sitting on the sofa watching TV.

"Back so soon?" Daryl, sitting on the sofa, smiled and greeted Cecilia.

Seeing Daryl there, Cecilia closed the door, changed her shoes, ran to him, and asked, "What are you doing here?"

"Can't I be here?" Daryl smiled and spread his hands.

Cecilia realized her reaction might have been too intense, so she lowered her head and quickly said, "Did you come right after work? Have you eaten?"

She never expected him to suddenly come over, which made her feel a bit guilty.

"I'm not hungry, so I didn't eat. How about you? Why are you back so early?" Daryl looked up and stared at her.

"I had a quick bite with Marcella, and then her boyfriend called her, so she left first," Cecilia quickly said.

She felt so guilty that she didn't dare to look up at him.

His sharp eyes were fixed on her, sensing something was wrong with her.

Daryl got up, walked over, and held her shoulders, saying, "No, you're lying."

"Why would I lie?" Cecilia looked up to meet his gaze, pretending to be confident, but only she knew how guilty she felt at that moment.

"You didn't go out to eat with Marcella tonight, did you?" his eyes seemed to see right through her.

Meeting his eyes, she knew that his eyes could see into her soul, and she couldn't argue.

Cecilia frowned and asked, "How do you know I didn't go out to eat with Marcella?"

"Every time you lie, you can't look me in the eye, and you came back too early tonight, looking upset and exhausted. Tell me, did something bother you?" Daryl asked, looking down at her with concern.

She couldn't help but admire his observation skills.

Cecilia replied, "It's because Seraphine was suspended, and I feel like everyone at the magazine is looking at me strangely now." Then she turned her back.

After thinking for a long time, she still didn't want to tell him about Azalea looking for her; she didn't want to make things difficult for him.

Looking at her back, Daryl shook his head and said, "No, you've already moved on from that. You're not the type to dwell on things. You must be hiding something else from me!"

"What could I be hiding from you?" Cecilia was cornered, and with Azalea's words still lingering in her mind from the afternoon, she was feeling extremely depressed!

Seeing her unstable emotions, Daryl turned and walked to her, holding her shoulders again, frowning, and asked, "Tell me, what's going on?"

Cecilia didn't dare to look at him because her eyes were already wet.

She thought she was strong and could digest these negative emotions in one night, but he appeared in front of her, making her feel like she was on the verge of an emotional breakdown.

Seeing Cecilia lower her head and remain silent, Daryl couldn't help but get angry. "Fine, I'll go to the magazine and find out what's going on!"

After speaking, Daryl turned and walked away.

Seeing he was serious, Cecilia quickly stepped forward and grabbed his sleeve. "Don't go, I'll tell you."

Daryl turned to her, whose eyes were already wet, and asked, "What's going on?"

"Promise me first, I'll tell you, but you have to stay calm and not get angry," Cecilia knew his temper too well. Although he was gentle, there was no guarantee he wouldn't have a conflict with Azalea.

"Okay, I promise you," Daryl nodded.

"This afternoon, your mother came to the magazine to see me."

Daryl couldn't help but stare at her in surprise. "My mother went to the magazine to see you?"

"We talked for a while in a coffee shop."

"What did she say to you?"

Cecilia lowered her eyes and didn't speak.

She couldn't bring herself to say those words and didn't want to tell him because she didn't want to come between him and his mother.

Seeing Cecilia not speaking, Daryl knew it couldn't be anything good.

Daryl let go of her shoulders and turned to walk towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Seeing Daryl about to leave, Cecilia quickly asked.

Daryl stopped in his tracks and said without looking back, "Since you won't tell me, I'll go ask my mother."

Cecilia quickly stepped forward to stop him, urgently saying, "I don't want you to go. If you go back like this, you'll argue with your mother!"

Seeing her panicked look, the extremely angry Daryl couldn't help but soften his heart, and then suddenly reached out and pulled her into his arms!

Being tightly held in his arms, Cecilia felt complicated, her face buried in his neck, feeling his breath.

If only she could be held like this by him for the rest of her life, but their future was still uncertain.

"I'm sorry for making you suffer," after a while, Daryl apologized with his chin resting on her head.

"Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault," Cecilia choked up.

"My mother has said some opposing words before, but I didn't expect her to come to you," Daryl carefully chose his words.

Cecilia looked up at him and suddenly smiled bitterly, "Actually, if I were your mother, I wouldn't agree to you dating me either. You're so outstanding, you should find someone from a family that matches yours. In terms of career or background, I can't help you with anything!"

"What are you talking about? I'm looking for someone I love, someone to grow old with, not a business partner to help me make money. What? Did my mother's words shake you? Is our love so fragile?" Daryl's voice raised.

Seeing the anger in his eyes, Cecilia quickly said softly, "Don't be angry, I'm not shaken. How could I be shaken?"
