Chapter 681 He Is a Good Father
"Mommy!" Hayden quickly dashed into Susan's arms.
Seeing Hayden suddenly, Susan was momentarily stunned!
It had been so many days since she had been this close to Hayden. Susan's nose tingled, and tears began to fall.
"Mommy, why are you crying?" Hayden reached out to wipe Susan's tears.
"It's nothing, I just missed you so much these days." Susan quickly adjusted her emotions, not wanting the children to see her cry.
"I miss you so much too, Mommy. Daddy transferred me to a new school, and it's really great." Hayden held Susan's hand as if he had a lot to say to her.
"Really?" At this moment, Susan looked up and saw Seb standing at the door.
He was watching them, but his eyes revealed no emotion.
"Daddy! Daddy!" Spring, who was playing with toys on the bed, saw Seb and waved her little hands at him.
Seeing Spring's adorable and innocent look, Seb's cold expression softened, and a gentle smile appeared on his lips.
The next moment, Seb stepped forward, bent down, picked Spring up from the bed, and spun her around in the air twice.
"Haha, so high!" Spring shouted excitedly.
Susan hugged Hayden, looked up at the happy father and daughter, and smiled.
They were actually a happy family, but now they were torn apart, and even the most basic trust was gone. It was truly sad and lamentable, but fate was like this; one couldn't fight against it.
After spinning Spring around a few times, Seb put her back on the bed.
"Hayden, stay here with Spring today. I'll come to pick you up tonight," Seb said to Hayden.
Hearing this, Hayden immediately hugged Susan's waist and shouted, "I want to sleep with Mommy at the hospital tonight."
Hearing this, Seb glanced at Susan and then frowned, saying, "But what about me? Don't you want to keep your old man company? I'll be all alone."
Susan couldn't help but roll her eyes. 'Right,' she thought bitterly. 'Alone, except for Esme.' The images of Seb and Esme together, their arms intertwined, their laughter echoing in her ears, fueled the resentment simmering inside her.
Hayden heard this and pouted, looking troubled, but still refused Seb, saying, "Daddy, can I stay here with Mommy for one night? You're a grown-up; you won't be afraid to sleep alone!"
Susan naturally wanted Hayden to stay, but she couldn't say anything. If she spoke, Seb would definitely oppose her, so she kept stroking Hayden's head, eagerly anticipating the night when she could sleep with both children.
Seb hesitated for a moment and then said helplessly, "If that's the case, then stay at the hospital for the weekend. I have to go on a business trip to another city, and I'll come to pick you up for preschool on Monday."
"Great!" Hayden clapped his hands excitedly upon hearing this.
Susan was also very happy, stroking Hayden's head.
Seeing their happiness, Seb felt a pang of sadness.
Then he said, "I'm leaving."
After saying that, he turned and left the ward.
As Seb's figure disappeared from the ward door, Hayden suddenly frowned and said, "Mommy, Daddy will be very lonely these two nights because I won't be with him."
Hearing this, Susan frowned and asked, "You sleep with him every night?"
"Yes," Hayden nodded.
"Every night?" Susan asked, unsure.
"Daddy tells me stories every night to help me sleep," Hayden said confidently.
Hearing this, Susan was very surprised.
She had seen photos of Seb and Esme together day and night, and there were always rumors about them. Susan thought they must be spending nights together often. Now, hearing Hayden say that Seb was with him every night was hard to believe.
The next moment, Susan thought Hayden was just a child and might not describe things clearly. Maybe Seb only occasionally slept with Hayden.
At this moment, Mary walked over with a glass of water and handed it to Hayden, saying, "Hayden, have some water."
"Okay, I am thirsty," Hayden said, taking the glass from Mary and drinking it.
Mary smiled at Susan and said, "What Hayden said is true. Mr. Anderson, no matter how busy he is or what social engagements he has, always comes home by 9:30 PM to tell Hayden stories and put him to bed."
Hearing this, Susan frowned.
Susan believed Mary's words; she had no reason to make up such a story for Seb. And she also believed Hayden, who never lied, though sometimes children didn't describe things very clearly.
At this moment, Susan was very shocked.
Could it be that Seb and Esme had nothing going on? No, that was impossible. Remembering how Esme clung to Seb's arm and acted arrogantly with Seb's support, Susan couldn't believe Seb hadn't slept with Esme!
The next moment, Susan understood that Seb was a good father. Now that she wasn't around Hayden and Spring, Seb had to put in more effort to take care of them.
But just for this, Susan forgave Seb a lot. At least he tried to restrain himself and be a good father, taking good care of the children.
Spending time with the children was happy and joyful, but time passed quickly.
On Monday morning, Susan dressed Hayden and packed his backpack, waiting for Seb to come and take him to preschool.
At eight o'clock, a figure in a black suit quickly walked into the ward.
Susan looked up and saw it was Leon. Looking behind Leon and seeing no one else, she felt a bit disappointed.
Leon naturally noticed Susan's look and said, "Mr. Anderson is outside on a call. He asked me to take Hayden to school."
"Hayden, hurry up," Susan quickly pushed Hayden towards Leon.
"Mommy, when can I see you again?" Hayden asked, looking at Susan reluctantly.
Hearing this, Susan felt a pang in her heart and could only comfort Hayden, saying, "Very soon. You need to study well, okay?"
"Okay." Not getting the answer he wanted, Hayden pouted and let Leon lead him out of the ward.
After Hayden left, Susan sat by the bed, her eyes a bit red.
At this moment, a tall figure in a black trench coat walked in.
