Chapter 837 We're Getting Married

Seb didn't look back, just kept walking, and before long, he vanished into the pine trees.

Susan felt a creepy chill around her, like something out of a horror movie. She jumped up and bolted in the direction Seb had gone.

"Seb, wait up! I'm freaking out here!" Susan yelled, seeing nothing but rows of tombstones and not a soul in sight. It was seriously spooky.

Finally, she spotted Seb's figure up ahead and let out a sigh of relief.

But no matter how much she shouted, Seb didn't stop or even glance back.

He was moving fast, and Susan, scared of being left behind, picked up her pace.

In her rush, she tripped on a stone, slipped, and hit the ground hard.

"Seb, Seb!" she screamed, but he just kept going.

Feeling totally let down, Susan got up, tears streaming down her face, and made her way out of the cemetery.

When she reached the gate, she saw a sleek black car waiting. Leon was holding the back door open for Seb, who was giving him an earful.

"Leon, I warned you before, but you still told her where I was. How am I supposed to trust you now?" Seb's eyes were practically shooting daggers at Leon.

Leon just looked down, staying silent.

Seeing Seb blame Leon, Susan rushed over to explain, "Don't blame Leon. He didn't tell me where you were this time."

"Yeah, right. So what, we have some kind of psychic connection? How else would we both end up here at the same time? That's a bit much, don't you think?" Seb's voice dripped with sarcasm.

"Believe it or not, we were totally in sync today," Susan shot back, stubborn as ever.

"You..." Seb started, clearly not buying it, but Leon cut in.

"Mr. Anderson, you decided to come here on a whim today. From the moment you made that call to the time we got here, it was only half an hour. I was with you the whole time. I didn't have a chance to tell Ms. Wilson. Even if I had, she couldn't have made it here from the city in half an hour. Plus, I stayed at the gate the whole time after you went in and didn't see her go in. So, she must've gotten here before you."

Seb's face darkened even more, realizing he had wrongly accused Leon and that he and Susan really did have some weird connection.

Leon added, "I don't want to defend myself, but if I'd known you were coming here, I would've told Ms. Wilson."

Seb's face turned even darker.

Susan was getting really anxious now.

Why was Leon so blunt?

Seb glared at Leon and snapped, "Leon, don't forget I am your boss, not her!"

With that, Seb stormed into the car, slamming the door behind him.

Leon shut the car door. Susan gave him a look, trying to signal that he should make an apology or he'd lose Seb's trust.

But Leon didn't budge. He got in the car and drove off, leaving the cemetery behind.

Later, Susan found out that from that day on, Seb stopped letting Leon be his driver.

Feeling guilty for dragging Leon into this mess, so Susan never asked him about Seb again.

Instead, she started hanging around near the Prosperity Group every day, just hoping to catch a glimpse of Seb from a distance.

Seb was always with Ellie, whether he was going to work or heading home, leaving Susan no chance to get close.

One morning, Susan saw Seb and Ellie walking into the Prosperity Group and turned away, feeling crushed.

'Has he really forgotten about me? Do I really have no chance at all?' she wondered, lost in thought, when someone suddenly blocked her path.

Susan looked up and saw Ellie standing there, looking all elegant and smug.

Ellie used to dress modestly as Seb's secretary, but now her clothes, makeup, and jewelry screamed high-end, showing off her close relationship with Seb.

Thinking about Ellie spending every day with Seb, sharing a bed, eating together, doing all the things they used to do, Susan felt like she couldn't breathe.

Ellie looked at her with a mix of amusement and disdain, arms crossed like she was watching a bad reality show.

"What do you want?" Susan asked, her voice cold.

Ellie smirked. "Susan, I gotta hand it to you. You've been coming to the Prosperity Group every day, watching Seb and me. Is it really that entertaining?"

"It's none of your business. Do you think you own the streets around the Prosperity Group?" Susan shot back, not even bothering to look at Ellie. Her attitude was infuriating.

Ellie snorted. "Don't think I can't deal with you. I have a hundred ways to handle you, but I don't need to. You're already at your wit's end. No matter how much you play the victim or try to seduce Seb, he doesn't care. You should go back to Northstar City and take care of your kids instead of wasting your time here."

"Whether I go back to Northstar City or not is none of your business," Susan replied coldly.

Ellie laughed, a chilling sound.

"What are you laughing at?" Susan demanded.

Ellie stopped laughing and said, "You don't know, do you? Seb has decided to marry me. Our wedding is next month!"

Susan was stunned for a moment, then shook her head. "No! That's impossible. Seb won't marry you."

But deep down, Susan knew Seb had moved on. He spent every day with Ellie, and it made sense that he'd marry her.
