Chapter 724 Stop Acting
Seeing Susan's agitation, Andrew softened his tone and said, "It seems you have a prejudice against me. Fine, I'm not in a hurry to push you. I'll give you two days to think it over. Just two days. After that, even if I want to back off, Evergreen Ventures Group won't agree."
After giving Susan a deep look, Andrew stood up, started putting on his coat, and prepared to leave.
Susan was very agitated at this moment because what Andrew said was true. Seb might lose everything this time.
Feeling restless, Susan picked up the water in front of her and drank half a glass.
Andrew, who had already left his seat, saw Susan drink the water and smirked.
At this moment, Susan felt dizzy. She reached out to touch her head, feeling her consciousness begin to blur.
Andrew stepped forward, sat in front of Susan, and pulled her into his arms!
With a trace of consciousness left, Susan wanted to push Andrew away, but she had no strength at all.
"What did you put in the water?" Susan felt extremely guilty at this moment. She knew something was wrong; Andrew must have put something in the glass.
Andrew held Susan's shoulder, kissed her cheek, and sneered, "What do you think Seb would feel if he saw us like this?"
"You're despicable!" Susan said with the last of her strength, then lowered her gaze and collapsed into Andrew's arms.
Late at night, the hotel room towering into the clouds was brightly lit.
A tall man in a black suit and vest stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the distant city lights, smoke curling from his fingers.
On the luxurious bed lay a woman in a cream-colored sweater and a black wool skirt.
She had a beautiful face, her hair scattered on the pillow, sleeping soundly.
After an unknown amount of time, the woman's eyelashes moved, and she slowly opened her eyes, but the strong light in the room made her raise her hand to shield her eyes.
Once her eyes adjusted to the light, Susan realized she was in an unfamiliar environment.
Looking at the furniture and decor, she should be in a high-end hotel.
At this moment, Susan coughed twice.
Smelling the smoke in the room, Susan looked up and saw the tall figure standing by the floor-to-ceiling window.
Seeing his figure, Susan's face lit up with joy!
She quickly sat up, got out of bed without putting on her shoes, and rushed to hug Seb's waist from behind. "Seb, why are we in a hotel?"
Seeing him, Susan was overjoyed. She had missed him and worried about him these past few days.
At this moment, Seb frowned, then turned and pushed Susan's arms away from his waist.
Seeing the cigarette between Seb's fingers, Susan frowned and said, "Why are you smoking again? Smoking is bad for your health. Stop it!"
Susan stepped forward to take the cigarette from Seb's fingers.
"Leave me alone!" But Seb irritably pushed Susan's hand away.
At this moment, Susan saw that Seb's face looked terrible, with a hint of anger in his eyes.
Susan smiled and tried to persuade him, "Are you worried about the Prosperity Group? Seb, it's just money, just status. Even if… even if things don't work out, you have more than enough to live comfortably. You could finally take that break you always talk about. Go horseback riding, skiing, traveling – all the things you love."
"Enough!" Seb suddenly shouted at Susan.
Seeing Seb's angry look, Susan was puzzled and stared at him blankly.
"Stop pretending. I'm sick of your act," Seb said through gritted teeth.
Hearing this, Susan asked, "Seb, what's wrong? Why are you saying this to me?"
Susan looked at Seb with pained eyes, not understanding why he had suddenly become so cold. What had she done wrong for him to speak like this? Was it because he couldn't compete with Andrew and Evergreen Ventures Group and was in a bad mood?
At this moment, Seb threw his cigarette butt on the carpet, stomped it out, and pointed at Susan, scolding, "What more do you want me to say? Do you see me as a fool? Do you feel great every time you toy with me? Does it give you a sense of accomplishment?"
"What are you talking about? Why have you suddenly become like this?" Seb's scolding made Susan take two steps back, looking at him in disbelief.
His gaze was very cold. Although the hotel room was well-heated, Susan still felt a chill all over.
At this moment, Seb turned and picked up his suit from the sofa, putting it on as he said, "I don't have time for this charade. There are people who need me. I have to get back to the landslide."
Seeing Seb put on his suit and drape his coat over his arm, really about to leave, Susan stepped forward and grabbed his arm, urgently asking, "How is the rescue operation going? Are all the missing workers dead? By the way, you must be careful of Andrew. He came to see me, he..."
Hearing this, Seb didn't wait for Susan to finish and pushed her away.
Susan stumbled and almost fell to the ground!
Seb said coldly, "You and Andrew met at a café behind my back, and now you come to warn me about him. Do you think I would still believe you?"
"You misunderstood. I did meet Andrew at a café, but..." Susan tried to explain.
But Seb didn't give her the chance. He reached into his pocket, pulled out a stack of photos, and threw them at Susan!
The photos scattered instantly on the dark green carpet.
Susan's eyes stared blankly at the scattered photos, then she bent down to pick up a few.
When she saw the photos clearly, Susan was stunned!
The photos were of Andrew holding her and kissing her.
Seeing these photos, Susan's mind went blank!
What was going on? How could this be? How could there be these photos?
Susan tried hard to recall everything.
Seeing Susan's bewildered expression, Seb sneered, "Don't tell me these photos are photoshopped. Susan, I've had them checked. These photos are real. Stop trying to deceive me!"
