Chapter 959 Coming to Her Side
Hearing Leon's words, Isabella took a couple of steps back, shaking her head in disbelief. "You came here today to make me get an abortion?"
"Yeah." Leon couldn't stand seeing Isabella so upset, so he looked away, but his tone was firm.
"What if I don't want to?" Isabella narrowed her eyes.
Leon glanced at her, his stance unyielding. "Today, whether you want to or not, you're getting rid of the kid!"
Isabella felt like a bucket of ice water had been dumped over her head.
She had thought about being a single mom and cutting ties with Leon. She never imagined he'd be so heartless, dragging her to a private clinic for an abortion. His coldness was a shock; the usually gentle and considerate Leon could be so cruel it felt like she was falling into an ice cellar.
Just then, two female nurses in white uniforms walked over.
One of the nurses respectfully said to Leon, "Mr. Johnson, Dr. Torres is ready. Please bring Ms. Brown over; the procedure can start immediately."
Isabella's legs went weak.
Looking at the nurses and then at Leon's cold face, she knew he had come prepared. Even if she resisted, it would probably be useless.
The next moment, Isabella suddenly threw her head back and laughed wildly.
Seeing her laugh like that, Leon panicked.
He stepped forward to support her, his voice softening. "Isabella, what's wrong?"
After laughing, Isabella met his concerned eyes and said sadly, "Since you don't want your kid, what reason do I have to insist?"
"Isabella, I..." Leon started to say something.
But Isabella cut him off, "Leon, I'm not so cheap as to have a kid for a man who doesn't want me or my kid. Don't worry, after the abortion, I won't bother you. Let's pretend we never knew each other!"
"Isabella!" Leon's brow furrowed.
Isabella suddenly pushed him away, then turned and followed the nurse towards the operating room.
Watching her walk into the operating room, Leon suddenly swung his fist and hit the wall.
A muffled groan was heard, and his hand was already a bloody mess.
Staring at the closed operating room door, two tears slid down Leon's cheeks.
Inside the operating room, Isabella saw a middle-aged female doctor already prepared, with a white disposable sheet laid on the delivery bed.
The nurse who brought her in politely said, "Ms. Brown, please take off your pants."
Isabella quickly glanced around the room, then suddenly asked, "I'm sorry, I'm a bit nervous. Can I use the restroom first?"
"Of course, follow me." The nurse led her to a restroom next to the operating room..
"Thank you," Isabella said, then immediately closed and locked the restroom door. The next moment, she quickly scanned the restroom.
Luckily, it was on the first floor, and there were two small windows. Outside the windows was the backyard of the private clinic.
Without thinking much, Isabella opened a window, climbed out, and ran out of the clinic's backyard.
Five minutes later, the nurse, seeing that Isabella hadn't come out of the restroom, started knocking on the door.
Realizing there was no response from inside, the nurse quickly found a key, opened the restroom door, and found it empty.
She ran out to find someone. When Leon learned Isabella had escaped, he immediately searched everywhere, but she was long gone.
Isabella rushed home, grabbed her driver's license and passport, packed a few clothes, and left.
By the time Leon arrived, the place was empty.
A few days later, Isabella flew to Northstar City.
"Dear passengers, the plane is about to land in Northstar City. Please prepare." Hearing the flight attendant's announcement, Leon's eyes lingered on the diamond ring in the velvet box in his hand for a moment. He smiled, closed the box, and put it in his suit's inner pocket.
After a flight of over ten hours, Leon couldn't wait to see Isabella.
An hour later, Leon arrived in front of the villa where Isabella lived.
Just as he was about to step forward, he saw Kathy walking over with a grocery basket.
"Mr. Johnson, when did you arrive? Why didn't you call so I could prepare a room for you?" Kathy asked, surprised to see Leon.
Leon looked at her and replied, "Just got here."
He glanced at a window on the second floor of the villa.
Kathy understood and smiled. "Ms. Brown went for a walk. Why don't you come in and wait for her?"
Leon checked his watch. It was five in the afternoon. Walking was good for a pregnant woman. He handed his suitcase to Kathy and said, "I'll wait here for her. Please take my luggage inside."
"Okay, I'll go prepare dinner." Kathy took the suitcase and went inside.
Leon stood at the villa's entrance, scanning the road in front of him, a smile on his lips. He occasionally touched the velvet box with the diamond ring in his suit's inner pocket.
About half an hour later, Leon noticed two figures in the distance.
Isabella was wearing a blue suspender dress, her belly protruding, one hand on her waist, walking slowly.
Seeing the Isabella he had missed day and night, Leon's heart surged with excitement.
The next moment, he was about to step forward.
But then he saw someone carefully supporting Isabella.
Seeing the man in cream-colored trousers and a brown jacket beside Isabella, Leon's eyes darkened.
He turned and hid behind a nearby wall.
Leon watched as Isabella and Alfonso chatted and laughed, with Alfonso supporting her. They looked very happy, and he couldn't help but frown.
Alfonso, supporting the heavily pregnant Isabella, asked with concern, "We walked a bit farther today. Are you tired?"
"Not tired," Isabella shook her head, then said, "You're here for an exchange program. I know your time is tight, but you still come to walk with me every afternoon. Maybe you should just come on weekends; I don't want to delay your work."
Alfonso casually replied, "It's just an hour in the afternoon. It won't mess up anything. I'm usually either studying or sleeping around that time, so I can use it for exercis. Otherwise, I'm gonna lose my fit and sturdy figure!"
Hearing this, Isabella laughed. "You're a man; why worry about your figure?"
