Chapter 948 I Can't Attract Him
Realizing she couldn't hide it anymore, Isabella blushed and admitted, "Actually, I could walk on my own a few days ago."
"Then why are you still in a wheelchair? Are you that lazy?" Susan asked, confused.
"No," Isabella replied, turning and sitting down.
Noticing Isabella's red face, Susan couldn't help but wonder. "Are you faking it for Leon?"
Isabella raised an eyebrow. "You see right through me."
"Why pretend your leg isn't healed? Aren't you worried Leon will be mad if he finds out?" Susan asked quietly.
Isabella looked troubled. "I don't want to, but I feel like he's not treating me well enough."
Susan pulled up a chair and sat down. "Leon picks you up for work, drops you off, cooks for you, and does all the chores. How is he not treating you well? Your standards are too high!"
"To be precise, it's not that he's not treating me well; it's that he's not passionate about me," Isabella said hesitantly.
Susan frowned. "What do you mean by not passionate?"
Isabella couldn't hold back her embarrassment and spilled her thoughts. "He's caring and attentive, but I feel like he's more of a caretaker than a boyfriend."
"Can you be more specific?" Susan asked.
"A couple in love should be hugging and kissing all the time, maybe even making love spontaneously. But he's afraid to be alone with me. It's been so many days, and he's only kissed me twice. He rarely shows any affection. Do you think I'm not attractive to him?" Isabella explained.
Susan thought about how, when she and Seb were deeply in love, he looked at her like a hungry wolf eyeing a sheep, never resting until they had sex several times a day.
Although Leon and Isabella hadn't been together long, what Isabella described was indeed unusual.
Susan paced the office twice and suddenly suggested, "Could it be that Leon has some issues in the bedroom?"
Isabella immediately shook her head. "No way."
"How do you know? Have you tried?" Susan asked quietly.
Isabella blushed. She hadn't thought Leon could be impotent. They had sex once in Avaloria, and she remembered bleeding a lot that night. But then again, she was very drunk and couldn't remember the details.
'Could he really have a problem? Could I be so unlucky to fall in love with an impotent man?' Isabella thought, feeling helpless.
Seeing Isabella silent with her head down, Susan thought she was worried and tried to comfort her. "Isabella, this condition is quite common among men. Leon is great in many ways. If he really is impotent, don't worry. Modern medicine is advanced, and it can be treated. Why don't you find a good time to suggest he go to the hospital for a check-up? After all, you two will get married and have kids in the future."
Hearing this, Isabella said awkwardly, "We're not at the marriage stage yet. It's too early to talk about this. Besides, I can't just bring it up."
Susan thought for a moment and said, "Then find a good time to hint at it. If there's a problem, it's better to treat it early. You and Leon are both in your thirties. If things go well, marriage and kids will be on the agenda soon."
Isabella reluctantly nodded. "I'll see how it goes."
"Oh, right, you haven't told me why you're pretending your leg isn't healed," Susan suddenly remembered.
Blushing, Isabella finally said, "Don't laugh at me when I tell you."
"I know you inside out. We won't laugh at each other," Susan chuckled.
Isabella thought about it and agreed. She and Susan had been friends for years, and Susan knew everything about her except for the incident with Leon in Avaloria.
Then, Isabella propped her chin and said sadly, "I like the feeling of him holding me. His embrace is warm and broad, and his arms are strong. You know, he rarely holds me when we're alone, only when he carries me up and down the stairs for work. If he knows my leg is healed, he won't hold me anymore. I can't bear that!"
Hearing this, Susan smiled and patted Isabella's shoulder. "You're completely smitten!"
"Susan, is this what love feels like? It's so wonderful," Isabella said with a silly smile.
Seeing Isabella's goofy look, Susan laughed. "This is love. Enjoy it!"
In the following days, Isabella continued to pretend her leg wasn't healed, fully enjoying Leon's embrace.
One evening, the table was filled with dishes Leon had made.
Isabella, however, had little appetite, her mind preoccupied with how to bring up the idea of Leon getting a check-up.
"Oh no, you cook delicious food every day, and I've gained several pounds," Isabella frowned at the dishes on the table.
Leon looked at the slightly plumper Isabella and said, "I think you look better with a bit more weight."
Hearing this, Isabella felt happy inside but said, "You say that now, but you'll definitely dislike me if I become fat!"
"Then you should exercise more to burn some calories," Leon said as he placed a chicken wing on Isabella's plate.
Hearing this, Isabella thought for a moment, then smiled and said, "Of course, I need to exercise more. Leon, why don't we go for a health check-up together?"
Leon dismissed it, saying, "Prosperity Group offers our executives two comprehensive health check-ups each year. I'll arrange for the hospital to give you another one in a few days."
Hearing this, Isabella frowned and said, "I want to go with you to feel reassured!"
Leon smiled and said, "Don't worry, I know my body well. I don't even catch a cold all year. You should go for a check-up, especially to see how your leg is healing."
Looking down at her leg, Isabella had nothing more to say and just frowned silently.
