Chapter 803 Not Raising Female Pets
"Honestly, I feel the same way," Susan whispered, snuggling closer to Seb.
Seb gently stroked her back, his eyes on the snow swirling outside. "Looks like we're stuck here tonight. I'll have Ellie book us a flight to Maple Valley for the day after tomorrow."
Susan's heart clenched at his words.
"Okay," she replied softly, holding him tighter and resting her head on his chest.
Seb noticed her reluctance and stayed silent for a while.
Susan could sense the firm rhythm of his heartbeat and the warmth of his breath. She didn't want to leave him, not at all. But she had to endure the next two years of separation.
Tears welled up in Susan's eyes. Why did their love have to be so hard?
She fought back the tears, not wanting to make him sad, but a few still slipped out.
Seb felt the wetness on his chest and knew what it was. He didn't wipe her tears away, just kept his hand on her head for a long time.
After a while, Seb sensed Susan had calmed down. He looked down with a smile. "So, we won't see each other for two years?"
"Yeah, and we can't talk until you can face me without any guilt," Susan replied.
Seb already knew this was coming, but hearing it still stung.
He tried to lighten the mood. "But I'm just an ordinary man. What if I have desires and needs?"
Susan shot him a look. "Are you subtly seeking permission to sleep with other women?"
Seb grinned, holding her waist. "I only want you."
Susan's anger melted into a smile. "That's better. But two years is a long time. How about I send you a silicone doll? I heard the ones from Elaria are pricey but top-notch!"
Seb pinched her butt.
Susan yelped.
Seb warned, "Keep talking nonsense, and it won't just be a pinch."
Susan rubbed her butt and pouted. "I'm just trying to be considerate. I don't want you to be lonely."
Seb pinched her cheek. "I have enough self-control."
Susan smiled, feeling a bit happier.
Suddenly, Seb flipped her onto the bed, pinning her down.
"What are you doing?" Susan gasped, pushing against his chest.
Seb's eyes were playful. "I'm going to be celibate for two years. I need to make the most of now!"
He started touching her all over.
"No! I'm so tired," Susan protested, but eventually, she gave in.
That night, they held each other close, talking until they could barely keep their eyes open, because they knew that their time together was slipping away.
The next morning, Susan sat in the villa's dining room for breakfast.
The table was huge. She sat next to Seb, with Manuel and his wife at the head, and Hugo across from Seb.
These folks were all Seb's good friends. Susan had only met them a few times, but she quickly felt their warmth and enjoyed chatting with them.
During the conversation, Manuel's wife smiled at Susan. "Susan, I heard you skipped dinner last night, so I had the chef whip up a few extra dishes. Please, eat up."
"Thank you," Susan smiled, feeling a bit embarrassed. She and Seb hadn't left the guest room last night for some private reason and had only snacked in the middle of the night.
Manuel looked at Seb and joked, "When Seb saw Susan yesterday, he ditched all of us. No wonder he skipped dinner!"
Susan's face turned red.
Just then, she felt a warm hand holding hers. She looked down and saw Seb's large hand, and a warm feeling spread through her heart.
Seb didn't seem embarrassed at all. He looked at Manuel and grinned, "Should I take that as you being jealous?"
Manuel smiled, holding his wife's hand. "We're just like you. I think we're mutually jealous."
Everyone laughed.
Susan laughed too, feeling the awkwardness melt away. She realized Manuel and his wife had a great relationship.
Hugo, sitting across from Seb, couldn't help but chime in.
"Hey, if you're gonna flaunt your love, be mindful, okay? There's still a single guy here!" Hugo complained.
Susan looked at Hugo. He was tall and slender, with an air of elegance and courtesy. His wool suit was sharp.
Manuel, always the joker, said, "Hugo, want me to set you up with someone? What's your type?"
Susan was a bit shocked by the joke. Wasn't that a bit much?
But Hugo was unfazed. He grinned and replied, "Better keep her for yourself. Just be careful, or your wife might throw a fit."
Manuel and his wife exchanged a glance and then proudly said, "Since we got married, I've not only kept my distance from other women but also refrained from keeping any female pets."
Susan almost spat out her milk.
Seeing her choke, Seb quickly handed her a napkin.
Susan took it, wiped her mouth, and couldn't help but laugh.
