Chapter 1213 Do You Think You Can Run Away?
Daryl pushed her shoulder away and leaned down to kiss her again.
The kiss was passionate and intense, but brief.
After letting her go, he looked down and smiled, "From now on, I'll hug you and kiss you every day."
Cecilia blushed and smiled. Then she said, "Barry is a good person. In the past few months with him, he took care of me meticulously and never forced me to do anything."
Suddenly hearing this, his face showed a hint of jealousy. "I've been so jealous of him these past few months. If you keep praising him, I'll be even more jealous."
Cecilia patted Daryl. "You're so narrow-minded. We might not have reconciled if Barry hadn't suggested breaking up with me. You should be grateful to him."
"Fine, next time I'll treat him to dinner and make sure he drinks until he's under the table." Mentioning Barry, Daryl still couldn't completely let go.
"Don't you dare?" Cecilia warned seriously.
"Hey, whose side are you on?" Daryl shouted.
"Of course, I'm on your side, but you can't bully my friend!" Cecilia wrapped her arms around his neck, her tone playful.
Daryl's eyes flashed, and he said, "Alright, for your sake, I won't make him drink, but you can't meet him alone anymore."
"You're so petty," Cecilia pouted.
"No man would be generous about this," Daryl said, looking at her.
"But this time, Barry impressed me. He's such a good person. You know, Barry said if you had died in the plane crash, he would take care of me for the rest of my life; if you survived, he would break up with me because he didn't want to hold me back. He wanted me to be happy." Cecilia felt a pang of guilt towards Barry as she said this.
Daryl nodded. "I admit, I'm not as great as Barry. I would never give up the person I love!"
With that, he hugged her tightly.
Feeling his tight embrace, Cecilia also hugged his waist tightly. They clung to each other in the cold wind, and the white moonlight cast a romantic glow on them by the river.
After a long time, Cecilia suddenly heard his stomach growl.
Cecilia looked up and asked, "Was that your stomach?"
Daryl smiled and said, "It says it's hungry. Will you join me for a late-night snack?"
Cecilia frowned and said, "You didn't eat the good food earlier, and now you're hungry?"
"I didn't have an appetite earlier, but now I'm starving." Daryl took her hand and started walking.
"But it's so late, no restaurants are open!" Cecilia said.
"We can eat street food," Daryl replied.
"Letting the CEO eat street food? That doesn't seem right," Cecilia teased.
"It's not like we haven't done it before. Remember when we were in Northstar City, we often ate street food?" Daryl looked back at her.
Cecilia pouted, "Weren't you pretending to be poor back then?"
"Are you mocking me?" Daryl pointed at her, with a hint of guilt on his face.
"I didn't mean that. It's you who has a guilty conscience," Cecilia glanced at him and laughed.
Daryl could only raise his hands in surrender. "Alright, can you stop picking on my mistakes?"
"Okay, I won't pick on you today, but if I'm in a bad mood someday, I might still pick on you!" Cecilia said, making a grabbing motion with her hand.
"As long as you're happy, pick on me all you want," Daryl said, looking at her indulgently.
Soon, they were sitting in front of a street food stall.
The owner quickly brought over a steaming bowl of beef noodles. "Sir, your beef noodles!"
With that, the owner went to serve other customers.
Even though it was past midnight, there were still a few customers. On a chilly night, a steaming bowl of beef noodles brought a comforting warmth.
Daryl must have been hungry, as he immediately started eating.
After a couple of bites, Daryl looked up and asked, "Aren't you going to have some?"
"No, I'll just watch you eat," Cecilia said, resting her chin on her hand and watching Daryl eat with relish.
Seeing her focused gaze, Daryl smiled. "If someone with a weak mind were being watched by you, they might not be able to eat."
Cecilia, still resting her chin on her hand, made an even more infatuated expression. "You're the least shy person I know. Even if a thousand people were watching, you'd still finish that bowl of beef noodles without batting an eye!"
Daryl couldn't help but laugh, and the food in his mouth spilled out.
He coughed a couple of times and then grabbed a napkin to wipe his mouth.
Seeing his reaction, Cecilia turned her face away, laughing so hard she almost fell over.
After a while, Daryl finally recovered, placed some money on the table, and pulled Cecilia away from the street food stall.
"You're not eating anymore?" Cecilia asked in surprise as Daryl pulled her along.
"With you around, how can I eat?" Daryl complained.
Cecilia shrank her neck and smiled, "Anyway, I'm a feast for the eyes. Just looking at me should make you feel full."
Daryl suddenly gave her a mischievous look and said, "Just looking won't satisfy me."
"What else do you want to do?" Cecilia immediately hugged herself.
"You ruined my beef noodles, so you have to make it up to me." With that, Daryl grabbed her and walked towards the car.
"What are you doing? Don't you dare!" Cecilia was terrified.
He opened the passenger door and pushed her inside.
Then, he walked around the car, sat in the driver's seat, started the engine with a firm hand, and looked at her in the passenger seat. "Don't worry, I'm not that impulsive. I'll take you home!"
He accentuated the last sentence, his eyes fierce like a hungry wolf watching a lamb.
Seeing his eyes, she was genuinely scared.
She had experienced Daryl's capabilities; he could definitely wear her out.
Cecilia began to threaten and intimidate him. "Don't you dare do anything? We just got back together. You know, you're going to scare me away like this!"
"Do you think you can run away?" Daryl drove fast, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, his voice deep and evil.
