Chapter 1299 Furious
After a while, Skylar emerged from the restroom, looking refreshed.
"Skylar, what took you so long in there?" Azalea asked, already surrounded by a dozen pairs of shoes she had tried on.
"Godmother, my stomach's acting up today," Skylar said, clutching her belly and pretending to be in pain.
Azalea frowned. "Did you eat something bad? We should get you to a doctor."
"It's not that serious. I'll just take some medicine when I get home," Skylar replied.
"Then you should head home right away. I'll have the driver take you," Azalea said, clearly concerned.
Skylar hesitated. "Godmother, I'm okay. I can handle it. Shopping alone isn't much fun."
"You're too sweet, dear. I'm just browsing. If you're not feeling well, go home and rest. Drink some warm water," Azalea said, touched by Skylar's words, and gently nudged her to leave.
Seeing Azalea's insistence and feeling moved by her concern, Skylar reluctantly said, "Alright, Godmother, I'll go. But those shoes look amazing on you!"
Skylar pointed to the pair of shoes Azalea was trying on.
Azalea looked down at the shoes and smiled. "Really? I think so too. Salesperson, I'll take these!"
"Of course," the salesperson said, thrilled to make a sale worth thousands of dollars.
Seeing Azalea's happiness, Skylar smiled and said, "Enjoy your shopping, Godmother. Bye!"
"Bye," Azalea waved as she continued to browse.
As Skylar left the shoe store, she glanced back at the enthusiastic Azalea, smirked, and then turned to leave.
A few hours later, Azalea walked into the mansion, excitedly carrying her shopping bags.
"Finn, look at all the beautiful shoes and bags I bought! The boutique even gave me a gold membership card. I really went all out today!" Azalea said, instructing the driver to place the numerous shopping bags on the couch.
Finn, the butler, glanced at the mountain of shopping bags on the couch, his expression cautious and hesitant.
Seeing Finn's expression, Azalea knew something was up. She waved the driver away, signaling him to leave.
Once the living room was empty except for Azalea and Finn, Finn spoke quietly, "Mrs. Fields, I have something important to tell you."
Azalea glanced around, then met Finn's eyes before heading towards the study.
Azalea entered the study first, followed by Finn, who closed the door behind her.
"What's going on?" Azalea stood by the desk and turned to Finn.
Finn frowned and pulled an envelope from her pocket, handing it to Azalea. "You should see this for yourself."
Azalea took the envelope, pulled out a stack of photos, and her face turned pale. She steadied herself by gripping the desk.
"Mrs. Fields, are you alright?" Finn asked, rushing to support her.
Azalea sat down, took a deep breath, and regained her composure. "Where did these photos come from?"
"They were delivered by the post office," Finn replied.
"Has anyone else seen them?" Azalea asked urgently.
"Only you and I. I didn't dare show them to anyone else, especially since Mr. Fields is out," Finn answered.
Azalea sighed in relief.
Then, angrily, she said, "This family is cursed. That woman brought nothing but trouble. Now she's involved with Elijah. What did the Fields family do to deserve this?"
Tears streamed down Azalea's face as she threw the photos onto the floor.
The scattered photos showed Elijah and Cecilia in the greenhouse, embracing near an orchid, with Cecilia's face showing signs of tears.
Finn picked up the photos and placed them on the desk. "Mrs. Fields, Mr. Elijah Fields isn't the type to act recklessly. These photos alone don't prove anything. Maybe there's a misunderstanding."
But Azalea, already biased against Cecilia, said firmly, "What misunderstanding? Even if Elijah and that woman didn't do anything, she clearly tried to seduce him! She's playing both my sons. I won't let her get away with this!"
Azalea slammed her hand on the desk, causing the items on it to rattle.
Noticing Azalea's anger, Finn advised, "Mrs. Fields, we should handle this discreetly."
"Of course. If this gets out, the Fields family will be a laughingstock in Maple Valley!" Azalea said, her face dark.
Finn looked at the photos. "These were taken in our greenhouse."
Azalea examined the photos closely. "That woman dared to seduce Elijah right here at home!"
Finn added, "These photos were taken by someone who had access to our home."
Azalea's eyes narrowed. "You mean someone from our household took these? Who could it be?"
Finn thought for a moment. "It couldn't be you, Mr. Isaac Fields, Mr. Daryl Fields, or me. That leaves the servants, cooks, gardeners, drivers, and gatekeepers."
"Who do you think is the most suspicious?" Azalea asked, frowning.
"There are too many to say for sure," Finn replied.
"Should we fire them all? If this gets out, the Fields family can't handle the scandal!" Azalea said, panicking.
"No, if the person is still here, they might be cautious. If we fire everyone, the news will definitely spread," Finn advised.
