Chapter 1304 Incident

"Alright, Daryl's on a business trip to Skyhaven. I've been missing you guys, so I decided to come back and visit," Cecilia said with a warm smile.

"I knew it! Daryl treats you so well. You gotta cherish him and take good care of him. I know you can be stubborn, but you need to be gentle with him!" Rainey advised.

"I get it, Mom," Cecilia nodded.

Azalea then glanced at the pricey supplements Cecilia had brought and said, "Daryl's parents are too kind. When your brother gets back, I'll have him buy some local specialties from our town for you to take back. We may not have much, but we can't be impolite."

"I understand, Mom," Cecilia nodded again.

As Rainey and Cecilia were chatting, a scream came from the kitchen!

"What happened?" They exchanged worried glances.

Cecilia quickly got up and ran into the kitchen.

Seraphina was sitting on the kitchen floor, clutching her belly, her face twisted in pain.

"Sis, what's wrong?" Cecilia hurriedly helped Seraphina up, asking anxiously.

"I... I slipped and fell! Ah, my stomach hurts, it hurts so much." Sweat was forming on her forehead, and she could barely speak.

"What happened? What's going on?" Rainey had already rushed into the kitchen, stunned to see her daughter-in-law on the floor.

"Blood?" Cecilia touched Seraphina's pants and found her hand covered in blood.

"She must be in labor! We need to get her to the hospital!" Rainey panicked, unsure of what to do.

"I'll call an ambulance right away!" Cecilia grabbed her phone and dialed for an ambulance. The Thorne family was suddenly enveloped in a cloud of worry.

At the town hospital, Rainey and Cecilia sat on cold hallway chairs, their hearts racing. Beau paced back and forth, sweat beading on his forehead.

"What are we going to do? If something happens..." Rainey said, tears streaming down her face.

"Mom, she'll be okay," Cecilia tried to comfort her.

Beau, a tall and strong man, looked visibly distressed, his eyes red.

The door to the operating room opened, and a doctor in a white coat stepped out.

"Doctor, how is my wife?" Beau was the first to rush forward, asking anxiously.

Cecilia supported Rainey as they approached to hear the news.

The doctor removed his mask, his expression serious. "The baby's position is not right. We're just a small town hospital and don't have the capability to handle this. You need to arrange a transfer to a better hospital immediately!"

Beau was stunned.

"Doctor, where should we transfer her? How do we contact the hospital?"

"See if you have any connections at a city hospital. If not, we'll send her in our ambulance. Her condition is critical, and if not handled properly, it could be fatal for both mother and child," the doctor said hesitantly.

Rainey collapsed to the floor in fear, and Beau leaned against the wall, unsure of what to do.

Cecilia knew her mom and Beau were inexperienced and clueless. She had to take charge.

"Doctor, please arrange for your ambulance to take her to the city hospital immediately!" Cecilia said urgently.

"Alright, I'll get it ready. Family members, follow along and make sure you have enough money!" The doctor hurried off.

"Cecilia, do you know anyone at the city hospital? We need connections for this kind of situation!" Beau gripped Cecilia's hand, placing all his hope in her.

Feeling Beau's trembling hand, Cecilia reassured him, "Beau, don't worry. I'll figure something out."

"Okay, okay," Beau nodded nervously.

Cecilia paced the hallway, thinking hard. She didn't know anyone at the city hospital.

With Daryl in Skyhaven, her first thought was Douglas. But she hesitated, not wanting to trouble Douglas, especially if he told Daryl, who might come back early, complicating things.

Given Seraphina's critical condition, she couldn't leave now. But if Seraphina delivered safely, she might be able to leave in a few days.

Suddenly, Cecilia thought of Elijah. He was free and might be able to help.

She quickly dialed Elijah's number.

"Elijah? It's Cecilia," she said urgently when he answered.

"Cecilia, aren't you visiting your parents? Is something wrong?" Elijah's voice came through.

"I need a favor," Cecilia said quickly.

"Just tell me what you need," Elijah responded promptly.

"My brother's wife is having a difficult labor. We're heading to the nearest city hospital. The doctor said we need connections for better care. Daryl's not in Maple Valley, and I..." Cecilia explained.

Elijah interrupted, "Cecilia, send me the name of the hospital you're going to. I have a friend who invested in that hospital. He should have connections there."

"Okay, thank you!" Cecilia hung up, relieved.

Cecilia, Rainey, and Beau followed the ambulance to the city hospital.

On the way, seeing Seraphina in critical condition, Rainey cried, "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have let her cook at this stage of her pregnancy. If she hadn't gone to the kitchen, this wouldn't have happened!"

Cecilia also felt guilty. "Mom, it's my fault. I shouldn't have come home now. If I hadn't, she wouldn't have had to cook."

Both Rainey and Cecilia were in tears.

Seraphina was kind and capable. If anything happened to her, Beau might not survive the grief.

Beau frowned, looking at his unconscious wife. "Stop blaming yourselves. This was meant to happen. But I believe she and the baby will be okay."

The city hospital was only half an hour away. When they arrived, doctors were already waiting and quickly took Seraphina into surgery.

The hospital had sent their best obstetricians, and everything was expedited, even the admission paperwork. Cecilia knew Elijah's friend had come through.
