Chapter 620 I Want to See Him

Susan didn't have time to dwell on Andrew's words. She turned and hurried towards the elevator.

Watching Susan's hurried departure, Andrew's lips curled into a cold smile.

Once in the elevator, Susan's heart was in a panic. It seemed Maria was right; everything was orchestrated by Seb behind the scenes. Otherwise, the two wouldn't have come to blows.

Susan realized that this matter must be very serious; otherwise, George wouldn't have come directly, given his character.

What disappointed Susan the most was that Seb would use such despicable means to deal with George. It was clear that she had really angered him that day.

Susan made a silent resolution in her heart. After all, George was implicated because of her. She had to see this through and ensure that George's career wouldn't be affected. She needed to clear this up as soon as possible.

Susan walked straight to the door of the CEO's office at Prosperity Group. When the secretary, Ellie, saw her, she quickly stood up.

"Mrs. Anderson, you're here?" Ellie said with a full smile.

Susan hesitated at Ellie's address. It seemed that her divorce from Seb hadn't been made public yet, so Ellie still thought she was Seb's wife.

Although others thought so, she herself could no longer casually push open the door to Seb's office as his wife.

So, the next moment, Susan smiled and said, "I want to see Seb. Could you please inform him?"

Hearing this, Ellie was obviously stunned for a moment, then quickly said, "Okay, please wait a moment."

After speaking, Ellie lowered her head and pressed the intercom.

"Mr. Anderson, your wife is here to see you," Ellie said softly as soon as the call was connected.

There seemed to be a moment of hesitation on the other end, followed by Seb's deep, heavy voice. "I'm very busy right now. If she has time, let her wait. If not, ask her to leave!"

After speaking, Seb hung up almost immediately.

Hearing this, Ellie felt a bit awkward. Her first instinct was that Seb and Susan had quarreled, which put her in a difficult position.

Actually, Susan could predict Seb's reaction. After their last argument, he probably didn't want to see her. But she had to see him today.

Looking at the two tightly closed doors in front of her, Susan frowned slightly, then looked up at the troubled Ellie and said, "I have time; I can wait."

Hearing this, Ellie quickly said with relief, "Why don't you wait in the reception room next door? There are seats there. Please follow me."

Susan knew she had to wait until Seb was willing to see her, so she obediently followed Ellie to the reception room, which was only separated from Seb by a wall.

There was a large sofa, a few magazines for entertainment, and Ellie thoughtfully brought her a cup of coffee, a plate of fruit, and some snacks.

After Ellie left apologetically, Susan looked at the coffee, fruit, and snacks in front of her and couldn't help but laugh. If Ellie knew she was already Seb's ex-wife, would she still be so polite? After all, she was now someone Seb disliked.

Then, Susan entered a long wait.

Waiting was really torturous, especially since Susan had to sit there and let her mind wander.

Unconsciously, from initial anxiety to later calmness, to pacing back and forth in the reception room, Susan drank the coffee, ate the fruit, and finished the snacks. By then, it was already past noon.

Looking at her watch, it was already 12:30. Susan knew Seb probably wouldn't ask Ellie to come get her.

So, the next moment, Susan resolutely walked out of the reception room.

At this time, Ellie returned with a lunchbox. Seeing Susan, she quickly smiled and said, "Mrs. Anderson, I brought you lunch. Why don't you eat and then wait for Mr. Anderson? I just asked, and Mr. Anderson said he still has some work to do."

Susan naturally understood the subtle hint behind Ellie's smile and said expressionlessly, "Thank you for your kindness, but I've already eaten."

After speaking, Susan turned and directly went to open the CEO's office door.

Seeing this, Ellie quickly stepped forward and said, "Mrs. Anderson..."

But it was too late to stop her; Susan had already opened the door.

As soon as the door opened, she saw Seb sitting in front of the sofa, eating pasta. He looked up and saw Susan walking in.

Seb immediately threw the fork in his hand onto the coffee table in anger, directing all his fury at Ellie, who had followed Susan in!

"Ellie, what are you doing? Is anyone allowed to barge into my office?" Seb roared at Ellie.

Seeing Seb so angry, Ellie quickly lowered her head and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Anderson. It's my fault."

"Your fault? That's hardly an excuse! If you can't do your job properly, you might as well clear your desk!" Seb's anger didn't subside.

For a moment, Ellie was so scared that she didn't dare to speak.

Susan coldly watched Seb, knowing that his anger was actually directed at her.

The next moment, Susan stared at Seb and said, "You don't need to blame Ellie. I forced my way in; it has nothing to do with her!"

After Susan finished speaking, the large office suddenly fell silent.

Seeing Seb not speaking, Susan glanced at Ellie, who wisely retreated.

For a moment, only Susan and Seb were left in the office.

At this time, Susan noticed a bruise on Seb's face and frowned. She thought, 'Could this be a mark from his fight with George?'

Seb didn't even look at Susan, but it was clear that he was in a bad mood.

The next moment, he lowered his head, took a cigarette from the pack, put it in his mouth, and lit it with a lighter.

As the smoke rose above his head, Susan turned and sat on a single sofa opposite him, saying, "I want to talk to you."

Seb glanced at Susan and said stiffly, "Talk about what? If it's about George, don't bother!"

Susan was momentarily speechless, her eyes fixed on Seb, not knowing how to start.

At this moment, Seb sneered and said, "Did George come to you to complain? He's in trouble now and might be ruined. I'm curious, if he loses everything, will you still stay with him?"

Hearing this, Susan frowned tightly.

It seemed he really minded this time and misunderstood. Actually, she was partly to blame because when he misunderstood last time, she didn't clarify and even encouraged his assumptions.
