Chapter 1233 Charming
Cecilia reached out to touch his thin face and said, "I can't bear to leave you either. How about I tell the magazine I'm not going?"
Daryl held her shoulders and said, "We have plenty of time ahead of us. Six days and five nights won't make a difference. Besides, this trip will be a good break for you and your colleagues."
Cecilia smiled and said, "Then you wait for me obediently in Maple Valley."
"I'll be very obedient. No gambling, no drugs, no vices!" Daryl raised his left hand and said.
Looking at his handsome face under the moonlight, Cecilia suddenly felt a strange sensation. She then stepped forward and hugged him.
Feeling her reluctance to part, Daryl patted her shoulder and said, "We still have half a month until the end of the month. We have plenty of time to be together."
"Yeah, just thinking about being apart for a few days makes me sad." Cecilia didn't know why she was being so clingy and anxious this time.
"It seems you can't be away from me for even a moment now," Daryl teased.
She playfully slapped him but then hugged him tightly again.
Soon, the day of the trip to Sylvanor arrived. Cecilia and her colleagues gathered in the airport waiting lounge.
Many colleagues had their families seeing them off, but only Cecilia and Marcella stood alone, chatting.
"My boyfriend is on a business trip, but why didn't your boyfriend come? He doesn't care about you. You should give him a hard time when you get back!" Marcella glanced at the families and children seeing off their colleagues.
Cecilia smiled and said, "I deliberately didn't let him come."
Marcella teased, "That's true. He's been featured in our magazine. His presence would cause a stir."
Cecilia smirked. That was exactly why she insisted he not come to see her off.
But honestly, seeing the young people in the company saying their goodbyes, she missed Daryl.
Cecilia's phone suddenly rang.
Cecilia quickly took out her phone and saw the flashing screen. Sure enough, it was Daryl's number.
She couldn't help but smile and then turned to answer the call. "Hello?"
"Look to your left," came the immediate response.
Cecilia instinctively looked up and saw a tall figure in a black trench coat and sunglasses standing about 150 feet away.
Seeing him suddenly at the airport, Cecilia was stunned, her hand holding the phone slowly dropping.
He had come to see her off. Although he didn't listen this time, her face lit up with a delighted smile.
Marcella, standing beside Cecilia, also saw Daryl in the distance and exclaimed, "Wow, he came!"
Seeing that Cecilia had spotted him, Daryl turned and walked to a secluded spot to wait.
Cecilia quickly handed her suitcase to Marcella and said, "I'll be right back."
"Watch the time, don't get too carried away!" Marcella laughed and pointed to her watch.
Cecilia didn't have time to say anything else and quickly ran after Daryl.
Daryl stood by a large floor-to-ceiling window in a corner where few people passed by.
Cecilia ran up to Daryl and smiled at him.
Daryl reached out and took off his sunglasses, his deep eyes reflecting only on her.
"I told you not to come," Cecilia said with a hint of reproach, but her face was full of joy.
"Aren't you happy to see me?" Daryl didn't answer her question but asked in return.
Cecilia looked down and smiled. Then she looked up and said, "Yes, I'm happy."
He took a step forward and lifted her in front of him with both hands.
After a moment of eye contact, he lowered his head and kissed her!
She wrapped her arms around his neck, and they kissed passionately.
The kiss lasted several minutes, and passersby couldn't help but glance at them.
The couple didn't care; they didn't want to restrain their feelings anymore.
After the kiss, they whispered a few words to each other.
At that moment, the boarding announcement came over the loudspeaker.
Daryl, reluctant, said, "Go ahead."
Cecilia took a step back, creating some distance between them, and said, "I'm leaving now."
"I'll watch you go," Daryl said.
Cecilia nodded, then took two steps back, steeled herself, and turned to walk towards Marcella and the others.
Cecilia didn't look back because she knew if she did, she might not go on this trip to Sylvanor.
Sitting on the plane, looking at the blue sky and white clouds outside, Cecilia couldn't stop smiling.
Marcella, sitting beside her, said, "Are you here for a trip or just to smile foolishly?"
"Annoying!" Cecilia pushed Marcella playfully.
"No wonder you're so infatuated. He's handsome, and that trench coat looks so charming on him!" Marcella said softly.
Cecilia just smiled without saying a word.
During the first two days in Sylvanor, Cecilia took photos everywhere she went and sent them to Daryl. He would reply immediately. They never really left each other, talking on the phone every night.
One morning, Daryl was sitting at his desk reviewing documents.
Suddenly, he looked up at the clock on the wall.
It was almost noon, and it seemed she hadn't contacted him for a day.
He frowned and checked his phone, but there were no messages from her.
He sent a text to her, but she didn't reply for a long time.
Worried, he called her, but he couldn't get through.
Douglas suddenly burst into the office.
"Mr. Fields, something's wrong!" Douglas said with a serious expression.
"What happened?" Daryl's face also turned serious, as he had a premonition that it had something to do with Cecilia.
"I just saw a news report. A boat capsized in Sylvanor, and the boat was full of Luminara tourists," Douglas said quickly.
"Is Cecilia on that boat?" Daryl stood up abruptly.
Douglas said, "I just confirmed with the travel agency. All Vogue Vista employees were on that boat!"
