Chapter 450 Internal Strife

At that moment, Amelia, who was chillin' behind Sophia, stepped up and snapped, "You old geezer, this is all on you. Can't control your kid, can't run your company, and now you're blaming us?"

Seeing Amelia join the roast, Dominic took a couple steps back, looking all regretful. "Even though you haven't been in my family long, I've treated you like my own daughter. And now you're cursing me? Guess everyone was right; you and your mom are just a pair of bitches. Everything I have today is thanks to you!"

"That's your bad luck, not our problem," Amelia shot back, grabbing Sophia's hand. "Mom, let's bounce! This old fart's about to go bankrupt; we can't stick around and go down with him."

Sophia glared at Dominic with pure hatred, and his face twisted with grief and anger. "Sophia, we're still legally married. If I go bankrupt, you won't have it easy either. Even if I die, you'll be a widow!"

Sophia sneered, "Even if you go bankrupt, I'll still live my life. If you die now, I'll be free to find another man."

"You..." Dominic was so mad he clutched his chest.

Sophia snorted and walked off with Amelia.

Dominic let out a long sigh and plopped down on the street, not caring about his image.

Seeing Dominic's misery, Susan felt a twinge of sadness.

Maybe when Sophia and Amelia ditched James, it was a similar scene?

'There probably isn't anyone more heartless than Sophia and Amelia. It's wild to think people who were once so good to them would get kicked to the curb when they were no longer useful,' Susan thought.

But Dominic and James weren't saints either; they were heartless too. Otherwise, they wouldn't be in this mess, so they didn't deserve sympathy. Still, seeing them like this was kinda pitiful.

Noticing Susan's serious look, Seb raised an eyebrow. "What? Feeling sorry for Dominic?"

Susan looked up. "He brought this on himself."

Seb nodded. "Capgemini Software Company is definitely going under. Dominic's not only losing his company but also racking up huge debts. Who knows how this circus will end."

"No matter how it ends, Dominic's screwed. Sophia and Amelia will definitely ditch him. They'll probably hunt for their next sugar daddy," Susan shook her head.

"They won't get away that easy," Seb suddenly said.

Susan looked confused. "What do you mean?"

Seb's lips curled into a cold smile. "Sophia and Dominic are legally married. Dominic's bankruptcy will drag Sophia down too. From what I know, a lot of Capgemini's projects are managed by Sophia and Amelia. So when the company goes under, they'll be buried in debt too, unless Dominic takes it all on and divorces Sophia. Otherwise, they're stuck."

Hearing this, Susan felt a lot better. "They brought this on themselves."

After a bit, the traffic up ahead started to clear, and the car began to inch forward.

Feeling kinda tired, Susan leaned her head on Seb's shoulder, lacing her right hand with his left, and grinned, "See what happens when Dominic chases other women? You better not pull that crap."

"Relax, Dominic's got trash taste. I don't dig chicks with heavy makeup. If I were to find someone, it'd be a natural beauty," Seb teased, glancing down at her.

Susan wasn't having it. She grabbed Seb's ear and twisted it hard. "What did you just say? Say it again."

Seb quickly surrendered, "Alright, alright, wildcat, I won't say it again."

"Who's the wildcat?" Susan snapped, still annoyed.

Seb let her smack his chest a few times before wrapping his arms around her, pulling her close.

"Let go of me," Susan whispered, glancing at Leon, who was driving.

"Nope!" Seb pouted like a kid.

Not only did he not let go, but he also lifted her up a bit, looking up at her, now a head taller than him, and said softly, "Even though you're a wildcat, you're super cute, and I like you!"

Susan couldn't help but smile.

Then, he buried his head in her chest, holding her like a child, soaking in her warmth and softness.

"Cut it out. We're almost home," Susan whispered in his ear after a bit.

A mischievous glint flashed in his eyes. He leaned in close to her ear and whispered, "Can I continue when we get home?"

"Get lost!" Susan laughed, giving him a playful smack.

The two of them kept being all lovey-dovey in the back, making Leon, who was driving, a bit frustrated.

But this had been happening almost every day lately, so he was kinda used to it. He didn't really believe in love anyway, thinking it was just a spice of life, something optional.

When they got back to the villa, Hayden and Spring were already asleep. Susan and Seb looked at them happily for a moment before heading upstairs.

Outside, the night was deep. After taking a shower, Susan, wearing a camisole nightgown, had just walked to the bed when her wrist was grabbed by the person lying on the bed.

She let out a small yelp and fell into Seb's arms, who was wearing a robe.

The robe was loosely draped over his shoulders, without a belt, showing off his eight-pack abs to Susan.

Blushing, she pressed her face against his firm chest and softly said, "Why aren't you asleep yet?"

"I was waiting for you," Seb replied.

Susan smiled and was about to say something.

But Seb continued, "I was waiting for you to explain what happened at the party today."

Hearing this, Susan looked up at him and protested, "Could you finish your sentences in one go?"

She had thought he had forgotten about it, but it turned out he was waiting for her to explain. So she was a bit scared, as this was a sensitive topic.

Seb, however, looked at Susan with deep, serious eyes and said, "Don't change the subject. You have to explain everything that happened with George today!"
