Chapter 1232 How Could I Bear to Leave You

Daryl reached out and patted her cheek, smiling, "You look better with a bit more weight."

Cecilia smiled and then leaned her face on his shoulder as they slowly strolled together.

"By the way, you didn't argue with Mrs. Fields when you went back that day, did you?" Cecilia finally asked after holding it in for several days.

Daryl hesitated for a moment and then smiled, "No, don't worry. I'm not foolish enough to argue with my mom. I'll persuade her slowly, but it will take some time, so our wedding plans will have to be postponed."

Cecilia understood his predicament and nodded considerately, "Anyway, I haven't had enough of a single life yet. Let's just keep dating. They say marriage is the grave of love. If that's true, wouldn't it be a loss for me to marry you so early?"

Daryl couldn't help but pinch her nose affectionately, "I won't let you go too wild for too long."

"I should have taken the $300,000 check your mother gave me that day. Then I would have been a little rich lady, or I could have asked for a few hundred thousand more and traveled the world, instead of working eveyday!" Cecilia teased, pouting.

Daryl stopped in his tracks, frowned, and said, "What did you say? My mother gave you a $300,000 check that day?"

Cecilia suddenly realized she had let it slip. She had never told him about this, and his mother probably wouldn't admit it.

"Yes." Cecilia had no choice but to admit it.

Daryl's face darkened. "How could she do that?"

Seeing his expression, Cecilia quickly said, "Yeah, she should have given more. You're worth more than $300,000."

Daryl couldn't help but laugh.

Seeing him laugh, Cecilia finally breathed a sigh of relief and smiled as she looked at his face.

"You!" Daryl looked at her helplessly.

"What? I'm just stating the facts. In my eyes, you're worth a bit more than $300,000." Cecilia said, holding his arm as they walked.

Looking down at the charming Cecilia leaning on his arm, his eyes were filled with laughter and happiness.

If it weren't for the family obstacles, they would have been married by now.

"Am I only worth a bit more than $300,000?" Daryl said discontentedly.

Cecilia blinked her big eyes and said, "I think $300,000 is already a lot."

"But you didn't sell me back to my mom, did you?" Daryl said, pinching her chin.

Cecilia smiled and teased, "I didn't have experience last time. If your mom comes to me again, I'll ask for a high price!"

"Would you dare?" Daryl smiled threateningly.

"As long as your mom dares to buy, I dare to sell," Cecilia laughed.

"Looks like I need to punish you so you won't dare to sell me." With that, Daryl lowered his head and kissed her!

She struggled a bit, then quietly wrapped her arms around his neck, and they shared a passionate and wild kiss by the river.

A few minutes later, she lay in his arms, panting.

Daryl's eyes burned as he gazed at the charming Cecilia in his arms, filled with strong possessiveness.

Cecilia was no stranger to his longing gaze, but he had made a promise, so he had to hold back. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but smile mischievously.

"What are you smiling at?" Even in the moonlight, Daryl caught her mischievous smile.

"Nothing, just smiling." With that, Cecilia buried her face in his chest.

Daryl lowered his head and whispered in her ear, "I'm not going to let you off the hook on our wedding night!"

Cecilia smiled and then rubbed her face against his chest. "You're so annoying. I'm innocent, and you're saying these things to me."

Hearing her playful voice, Daryl couldn't help but laugh.

He realized he laughed a lot now, especially when he was with her. He used to go a whole day at work without smiling once.

Daryl touched his cheek, feeling like he had smiled too much tonight, and his face was a bit out of control.

Cecilia looked up and said, "I need to talk to you about something serious..."

"When am I not serious?" Daryl interrupted her with a smile as soon as she started.

Cecilia playfully hit his shoulder and said seriously, "You're so annoying. I really have something to discuss with you!"

Daryl quickly stopped smiling, looked seriously at her, and asked, "Go ahead, I'm listening."

"At the end of the month, our magazine is organizing a trip to Sylvanor for all employees. Of course, it's in two groups, one at the end of the month and one at the beginning of next month."

"How long?"

"Six days and five nights."

Daryl frowned and said, "So you're saying I won't see you for six days and five nights?"

Cecilia smiled and nodded, "You could say that. What? Can't bear to be without me? If you can't, I can consider not going."

Daryl, however, grinned and said, "I was thinking I would have six days and five nights without your nagging and without having to protect you. I can be free for a few days!"

Of course, Daryl couldn't bear to be without Cecilia, but he knew she had been in a bad mood lately and hoped she could relax with her colleagues.

Cecilia angrily pushed him, making him stagger. "You're so annoying, I'm not talking to you anymore!"

She pretended to be angry and turned to leave.

Daryl quickly stepped forward, wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her back.

Looking down at her pouting lips, Daryl smiled and coaxed, "So petty? Are you angry already? I was just joking with you."

"Hmph!" Cecilia glanced at him and snorted.

"Alright, how could I bear to be without you? Six days and five nights will feel like an eternity to me." Daryl said, touching her head.

Cecilia knew he was joking with her. She couldn't bear to be without him either. To be honest, she was considering not going, but it wouldn't be good to skip a group activity.
