Chapter 511 A Joy Enemy

As soon as Susan finished talking, she let out a scream.

Seb had her pinned down in a flash, his voice booming in her ear. "Looks like you need another lesson!"

"Cut it out, we got a wedding tomorrow. I need my beauty sleep and can't be all worn out!" Susan yelled.

Seb peeked out the window at the sunny afternoon. "It's still early; you got plenty of time to rest."

"Okay, okay, I messed up," Susan whined, feeling all sorts of wrong.

"Too late," he shot back, and then did whatever he wanted.

"No," she mumbled, feeling all kinds of upset.

In the end, the room turned into a practice run for the wedding night.

Bright and early the next morning, Susan was already parked in front of the vanity in the bride's dressing room at the hotel.

The makeup artist was busy doing her hair and makeup, while Catherine and Dorothy chilled on nearby chairs.

Catherine was rocking a burgundy suit, her short hair all styled up, and she had pearl jewelry on her ears, hands, and neck. She looked super elegant, totally different from her usual laid-back vibe.

Dorothy was sitting next to Catherine, dressed more low-key, but she had on the scarf and handbag Susan had Catherine give her last time.

Dorothy seemed different this time. She was still quiet and a bit spaced out, but at least she wasn't giving Susan the stink eye anymore. Her look was more chill now.

The two had exchanged a few polite words, and Susan was feeling pretty good. On her big day, she didn't want any bad vibes with her family.

"Mom, you look amazing today," Susan said, smiling at Catherine.

Catherine blushed and looked a bit shy. "You got me this outfit, and Dorothy did my hair today."

"Dorothy's got good taste," Susan said with a grin.

Dorothy smiled too.

Catherine got all emotional for a moment. Her two daughters had been at odds for so long, and it had always bummed her out. Seeing them get along now made her happier than anything.

After hours of hairstyling and makeup, Susan was finally ready a little after ten.

Standing in front of the mirror, she twirled around, looking all radiant and graceful.

Catherine couldn't help but clap. "It's perfect!"

"Mom," Susan smiled, soaking up Catherine's praise.

Dorothy looked at Susan with envy, but there was a hint of bitterness in her eyes.

Suddenly, Catherine grabbed Susan's hand, looking worried. "Susan, do you think James will show up and cause trouble today? I couldn't sleep last night, scared he'd come and make a scene, embarrassing you and Seb."

Seeing Catherine's worried face, Susan smiled and reassured her, "Mom, chill. Seb's got it covered. We got security at the entrance, and only folks with invites can get in."

"That's a relief," Catherine nodded, finally relaxing.

Just then, the door to the dressing room swung open, and the emcee walked in. "Ms. Wilson, it's time to get ready for the ceremony."

Hearing this, Catherine quickly helped Susan with her long train. "Hurry up, hurry up, we can't be late."

A few minutes later, Susan was standing at the entrance to the banquet hall, holding onto Seb's arm. Behind them were Hayden and Spring, followed by the best man Leon and the maid of honor Isabella.

"Mommy, you look so beautiful," Spring said.

"Daddy looks so handsome!" Hayden added.

Seb and Susan turned around at the same time, their kids' sweet words making them smile. Hayden was rocking a sharp tuxedo, holding a bouquet, while Spring wore a pink dress with a little crown, looking adorable.

Looking at her cute kids, Susan smiled and said, "You both look amazing today too. I love you!"

Then, Susan met Seb's gaze, and their eyes were filled with tenderness and joy.

After all the ups and downs, they had finally made it to this moment. From now on, the four of them could live happily together as a family.

At that moment, the emcee's assistant came over, checking every detail and making final preparations.

"Mr. Anderson, move a little to the left. Mrs. Anderson, put on your veil. Kids, lift the train of the wedding dress a bit. Best man and maid of honor, stand closer together!"

Leon, in his tuxedo, took a step closer to Isabella and whispered, "You should hold my arm."

Hearing this, Isabella moved closer to Leon and placed her hand on his arm.

"Can the maid of honor and best man be a bit more affectionate?" the assistant's voice came again.

But Isabella didn't react at all.

Seeing this, Leon frowned. "Don't you know how to hold an arm?"

Hearing his scolding tone, Isabella got pissed. "I've never held a man's arm before, how would I know?"

"Just look at the bride and groom in front of you," Leon said, annoyed.

Isabella shot back, "They're getting married. We're not, so why should we be all lovey-dovey?"

"It's just for show. Why do you have to be so serious? No wonder you're still single at your age," Leon muttered.

Hearing this, Isabella rolled her eyes, her hands trembling with anger. But given the occasion, she had to keep it together.

She then bit her lip and gave a cold smile. "Mr. Johnson, I'm single, but you're not much better. Aren't you single too?"

Leon puffed out his chest and said, "That's different. I choose to be single; you can't find a partner. Big difference."

Isabella raised her chin, looked at Leon with disdain, tightened her grip on his arm, and almost pressed half of her body against his. Then, she lifted her foot and stomped hard on his with her sharp high heel!
