Chapter 432 Silly Smile
Seb tilted his head down, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "You were really into it just now, but we gotta handle some business first. Then we can get cozy."
Susan's cheeks turned bright red. "If you keep being such a tease, I'm not talking to you anymore."
She turned her face away, trying to hide her embarrassment.
Out of nowhere, Seb dropped to one knee.
Susan's eyes went wide. "What the heck are you doing?"
Seb grabbed her hand, kissed the back of it, and looked up at her. "I already gave you the ring, we had the roses and the music. Now, I'm officially proposing."
Susan had been joking around, never thinking Seb would take it seriously.
Seb, the guy with all the pride, was actually kneeling to propose, which was unexpected to her.
Her heart started pounding like crazy. She never thought those TV and novel scenes would play out in her own life.
"Susan, will you marry me? From now on, you'll be the most important part of my life. Spend forever with me." Seb's devilish grin was gone, replaced by a serious look and deep eyes.
Susan wanted to say "I do" or "Sure," but felt it might be too forward. She was trying to figure out how to respond.
Seeing her silent, Seb asked, "Are you even listening to me?"
"Of course, I heard you. Okay, I agree, I'll seriously think about it." Susan shot him a playful look.
Seb stood up, staring at her for a moment before nodding. "Alright, I'll give you time to think."
Then, he suddenly tackled her onto the big bed behind her!
"What are you doing?" Susan yelped in surprise.
Seb raised an eyebrow. "You think about it, I'll do my thing. Maybe tonight we'll make a baby!"
Susan quickly pushed at his shoulders. "Don't mess around, I..."
Before she could finish, Seb leaned down and kissed her, silencing her protests.
The night wore on, and Susan, who had been resisting, soon gave in.
Despite the wild night, Susan had promised Hayden she wouldn't back out. So, even though she felt like she'd been hit by a truck, she dragged herself up in the morning. After breakfast, she and Seb took the kids to the amusement park.
It was their first family outing, and Hayden and Spring were over the moon. Susan sat on a bench, watching Seb take the kids on different rides. She felt like she was living in a dream, everything was so sweet.
Monday morning, Seb and Susan personally took Hayden to preschool.
Afterward, Seb had Leon drive them to the courthouse.
Staring up at the tall courthouse building, Susan felt a bit nervous.
She turned to Seb and said, "Do we really need to rush into getting the marriage license?"
Last night, after their steamy session, Seb told her the wedding was set for next month. He wanted to give her a grand wedding to make up for the past.
Hearing this, Seb's face darkened, and he grabbed her hand. "You promised last night, no backing out now!"
Only they and God knew how she had agreed. After their wild night, Seb wanted to keep going, but Susan was wiped out and had to beg for mercy. He then slipped in the idea of getting the marriage license first thing Monday morning. In that state, Susan had no choice but to agree, not thinking he'd actually follow through.
"The wedding's next month. Isn't getting the license now a bit early?" Susan cautiously argued.
Seb glanced around at the people nearby and then whispered in her ear, "Looks like I need to get you pregnant soon, or you'll keep wavering!"
Seeing his serious and determined look, Susan knew he meant business, so she quickly protested, "No!"
"Then hurry up and get the license with me." With that, Seb pulled her into the courthouse.
Susan felt like she was in a daze. This time, getting the marriage license didn't feel as carefree as before. Her heart was pounding, and her hands were shaking as she signed her name.
What was wrong with her? Where was the fearless Susan from before? Was she getting more timid with age? Or was this what people called pre-wedding jitters?
Leaving the courthouse, looking at the marriage license in her hand, Susan felt a bit anxious. She had married Seb again, something she had longed for, but why wasn't she excited?
Meanwhile, Seb was grinning like a fool at the marriage license. Seeing his wide smile, Susan couldn't help but laugh, and her earlier unease vanished.
He usually had a stern face, but he had been smiling more recently. He would often smile slightly, and sometimes laugh heartily when happy, but such a wide, foolish grin was rare.
The next moment, Susan quickly took out her phone and snapped a picture of his goofy grin.
Hearing the camera click, Seb looked up and saw Susan taking his picture. He frowned and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Taking a picture of your silly smile." Susan waved her phone playfully.
Hearing this, Seb said, "Don't take it!"
With that, he stepped forward to grab Susan's phone.
But Susan dodged and ran towards the car.
Seeing her run, Seb chased after her.
A few minutes later, they were both panting in the back seat of the car.
"Let me see it," Seb reached out his hand to Susan.
Susan held the phone with both hands and smiled. "You have to promise not to delete the photo!"
Hearing this, Seb nodded. "Okay, I won't delete it."
"Don't lie to me," Susan said, raising her chin before handing over the phone.
Taking the phone, Seb looked at the photo on the screen, first frowning, then touching his chin and smiling, before becoming serious again.
