Chapter 924 You're Really Fat, You Should Lose Some Weight

Leon looked pretty serious, but he was moving super carefully.

He turned around, picked up Isabella, and gently placed her in the car.

Isabella got a bit freaked out, worried he might drop her. She was still in a cast, and another fall could mean permanent damage. Who would marry her if she became a cripple?

She had this fear because Leon always teased her about it.

So, out of instinct, she wrapped her arms around his neck.

Leon paused for a second, surprised by her sudden move.

He glanced at Isabella, his eyes showing mixed emotions, but his face softened a bit.

Isabella noticed the change and said, "I'm just scared you'll drop me."

Leon didn't respond. He carefully put her in the back seat and shut the door.

When he ignored her, Isabella rolled her eyes at him through the window.

Everyone got in the car, and Leon started driving to Isabella's place.

Isabella felt super uncomfortable in the back seat. She looked at the caregiver in the front but didn't dare say anything with Leon around.

Isabella was usually pretty blunt, and by the time they got to her place, she was about to explode.

Leon opened the car door, the caregiver grabbed a bunch of bags, and Maria pushed the wheelchair.

Isabella was about to get out when Leon suddenly got back in the car.

His sudden move startled her.

"I'll help you out of the car," Leon said, looking at her.

Isabella quickly refused. "No, I can do it myself."

Leon frowned but didn't push it and got out.

Isabella put her good leg down, using it to support herself as she struggled to get out.

Maria quickly brought the wheelchair over, but some potted plants were in the way, so it couldn't get through. Isabella had to move about ten feet to reach it. To make things worse, her building was old and had no elevator, so the wheelchair couldn't go upstairs.

Isabella grabbed the car door, trying to keep her balance. Maria rushed to help her. "Isabella, let me help."

"Thanks," Isabella said, grateful. The cast on her leg was really heavy, and she was struggling.

The caregiver handed her a crutch. "Ms. Brown, use this."

"Okay," Isabella nodded, feeling like the caregiver was a lifesaver.

Leon stood about six feet away, watching her struggle with a cold expression, not showing any intention to help.

Isabella finally made it to the wheelchair with the crutch.

Sitting in the wheelchair, she sighed in relief.

Maria pushed the wheelchair to the stairs, and the caregiver, carrying a bunch of stuff, walked over with Leon.

Isabella looked up at the stairs and gasped.

She had a hard time walking on flat ground, so stairs were going to be a nightmare.

She lived on the sixth floor, the very top.

Seeing the troubled expression on Isabella's face, Maria stepped up to help. "Isabella, I'll help you up."

"Okay," Isabella nodded, grateful.

With a crutch in one hand and Maria's support on the other, she took a tough step forward.

Suddenly, a tall figure blocked their way.

Isabella frowned, ready to say something.

Leon grabbed the crutch from her hand and handed it to a confused Maria.

Then, without a word, he bent down and scooped Isabella up.

"What are you doing?" Isabella barely got the words out.

Leon turned and headed up the stairs, carrying her.

Isabella protested, hitting his shoulder. "Put me down, Leon!"

Leon ignored her, silently carrying her all the way to the sixth floor.

The caregiver opened the door, and Leon carried Isabella straight to the bedroom.

Isabella noticed Leon was out of breath. Climbing six flights of stairs would leave anyone panting, even without carrying someone.

He gently placed her on the bed. Though she was annoyed by his bossy behavior, she couldn't help but feel touched by his help.

If he hadn't carried her, she'd be drenched in sweat using the crutch.

So, she stayed quiet, a strange feeling growing in her heart. His arms were strong, and she found herself missing them.

The small bedroom felt tense.

Leon looked at Isabella, sitting on the bed with her head down, feeling awkward. Trying to lighten the mood, he joked, "You really need to lose some weight!"

To Isabella, it sounded like a blatant insult.

"Leon, did you come here just to annoy me today?" she snapped.

Her words immediately set Leon off.

He had canceled all his plans, even taking leave from Seb, rushing to pick her up from the hospital, only to get this response.

"I came to pick you up out of kindness, and now I'm the bad guy?" Leon shot back.

"It's none of your business!" Isabella turned away, her expression cold.

Leon was furious.

Seeing him stand there for a long time, Isabella said angrily, "This is my home, and you're here uninvited. Should I show you the door?"

Leon didn't expect her to ask him to leave. He frowned, wanting to help her settle in but had no reason to stay.

So, he threw out a line. "Do you think I wanted to come? If it weren't for Ms. Wilson, I wouldn't even bother with you!"

With that, Leon turned and left.

Isabella was stunned, realizing everything he did was because Susan asked him to.
