Chapter 693 Bad News
Upon hearing this, Rylee smiled and nodded. "Alright. I'll call the lawyer tomorrow, and by next Monday, I'll transfer my shares to Seb."
Hearing this, Andrew forced a smile. "Whatever you say."
The next moment, Rylee's appetite surged. She picked up her knife and fork, cut a piece of steak, and placed it on Andrew's plate. With a cheerful smile, she asked, "Andrew, which movie are we watching tonight?"
"Whatever you like," Andrew replied absentmindedly.
"Then I prefer a romance movie." With that, Rylee quickly finished the food on her plate, then stood up and said, "I'm going upstairs to change. Hurry up!"
"Dress up nicely," Andrew said with a smile as he looked at Rylee.
Rylee stepped forward and kissed Andrew on the cheek, then skipped upstairs.
After Rylee left, Andrew's expression turned very grim. He lowered his head in deep thought for a while, then stood up and said to the maid, "Laura, clear the table."
"Yes, sir." Laura quickly came over to clean up the leftovers.
Andrew walked into the study on the first floor and locked the door.
After dialing a number, Andrew instructed the person on the other end, "Gilbert, we'll execute the plan we discussed on Saturday."
Gilbert seemed a bit hesitant. "Mr. Martin, are you sure you don't want to reconsider?"
"If I reconsider, the shares will end up in Seb's hands!" Although Andrew was trying to keep his voice down, it was clear he was furious.
Seeing that Gilbert didn't respond, Andrew calmed himself down, sat at the desk, and rubbed his forehead. He said in a low voice, "Don't worry, I'll take responsibility if anything goes wrong. As long as I get the shares and assets, $1.4 million will be in your account immediately. Isn't your wedding coming up? Your mother-in-law won't stop going on about you not having a house in Maple Valley. This is your chance to shut her up and show them what you're made of. Don't let them look down on you anymore!"
"Mr. Martin, don't worry. I'll follow the plan." With that, Gilbert hung up the phone.
Five minutes later, Andrew was standing at the staircase, smiling as he welcomed the beautifully dressed Rylee coming downstairs.
"You look stunning!" Andrew reached out and took Rylee's hand.
Rylee smiled slightly at the compliment and then leaned in to kiss Andrew on the lips.
The next moment, Rylee frowned and said, "You've been smoking again?"
Andrew was taken aback, then quickly smiled and said, "I was anxious while waiting for you, so I smoked half a cigarette, just half!"
"Don't let it happen again." With that, Rylee cheerfully linked arms with Andrew and left the villa.
On Saturday morning, Rylee had Laura load the trunk with bags of food and supplies.
Standing in front of the car, Andrew glanced at the fully packed trunk and laughed. "Isn't this a bit much?"
"New Year's is coming, so I prepared some things for your parents. Even if we take them to Averlake, all the paperwork will take until next year. They still have to spend this New Year on their own, so I got everything ready for them!" The beautifully dressed Rylee said sweetly, linking arms with Andrew.
Hearing this, Andrew pinched Rylee's nose. "You're such a dutiful daughter-in-law."
"You're lucky to have such a virtuous wife." Rylee laughed foolishly, looking up.
"Alright, it's getting late. Let's go!" Andrew glanced at his watch and then opened the passenger door.
At this moment, Rylee frowned and asked, "Are you driving back yourself? Why not let the driver do it?"
"Since it's the weekend, let's not trouble the driver. Besides, it's not even a hundred miles." Andrew replied.
"You're such a good leader," Rylee said and then got into the passenger seat.
Once on the highway, Andrew spoke very little, while Rylee kept chatting non-stop.
Halfway through, Rylee turned to Andrew and asked, "Andrew, why have you been so quiet this whole time?"
Hearing this, Andrew glanced at Rylee and replied, "I need to focus on driving."
"True." Rylee smiled and nodded.
At this moment, Andrew glanced at Rylee's seatbelt and smiled, saying, "Why don't you take off your fur coat? It's too warm in the car, and I don't want you to catch a cold when you get out."
Hearing this, Rylee looked down at her fur coat and nodded. "It is a bit hot."
With that, Rylee tried to take off her coat, but the seatbelt was in the way, so she unbuckled it and then took off the coat.
At this moment, Andrew's steering wheel suddenly slipped, and the car quickly veered towards the concrete barrier!
"Ah!" Rylee screamed loudly as she saw what was happening ahead.
Andrew closed his eyes and said in his heart, 'Rylee, I'm sorry!'
Moments later, the car inevitably crashed into the concrete barrier at high speed, and Rylee, who was in the passenger seat, was thrown out of the window.
A black Bentley screeched to a halt in front of a hospital. Before the car had fully stopped, the rear door opened, and a man in a black trench coat hurriedly rushed towards the emergency room.
"Rylee? Where's Rylee?" Seb saw Andrew sitting on a bench with his head wrapped in bandages and immediately grabbed his collar, lifting him from the bench.
"Seb, please calm down!" Andrew said, looking at Seb.
"How can I calm down? Tell me what happened to Rylee!" Seb's eyes were already red.
"Seb, my condolences." Andrew then lowered his head.
"What did you say? Rylee... she..." Hearing the words "my condolences," Seb's eyes widened, and he was stunned.
"Rylee has passed away," Andrew replied.
"Impossible!" Seb let go of Andrew's collar, took a step back, and almost fell.
Fortunately, Leon quickly stepped forward to support Seb. "Mr. Anderson!"
"Where's Rylee? I want to see Rylee!" After a moment of shock, Seb turned and ran in a direction!
"Mr. Anderson!" Leon quickly followed.
Half an hour later, Seb came out of the morgue, looking utterly defeated.
"Mr. Anderson, you must stay strong. Rylee's funeral arrangements depend on you," Leon said worriedly, seeing Seb in such a state.
Seb wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes and leaned against the wall.
